The Seahawks currently stand at 2-7 and are in a three-way tie for second place in the NFC West. This will be head coach Mike Holmgren's final year as the Hawks head coach and I'm sure this isn't how he wanted to go out into the sunset, but everything happens for a reason.
The 'Hawks currently hold the sixth overall pick in the 2009 and need to fill a lot of holes on this team: QB, WR and SS are the biggest. If the 'Hawks have a great draft, they can turn it around next year. I have the Seahawks addressing all three of their biggest needs in the draft.
First-round pick: WR Michael Crabtree
The Seahawks don't have a prototypical WR. What that means is that Crabtree is 6'3" 215 pounds, he is fast, strong and a huge weapon on any offence. The Seahawks' current tallest wide receiver is Jordon Kent (6'4").
Now, if you don't live in the NW your saying who is Jordon Kent; well he's just another Seahawks WR, the No. 1 and No. 2 WR are both under 6'0". Deion Branch is 5'9" and Bobby Engram, who, btw, isn't getting any younger, is 5'10".
- B/R Ticket Guide
No matter who the Seahawks QB is next year he is going to need a big target to throw to and who will show up ready to work.
Second-round pick: QB Colt McCoy
IF McCoy falls to the Hawks which is possible because there aren't a lot of teams in need of a QB besides Detroit who will take Matt Stafford, KC taking Sam Bradford and the Vikings taking Tim Tebow.
Now, the reason why I have the Seahawks taking a QB in the second round is because once you get past the top four which I just listed there really isn't a QB that can put a offence on his shoulders and with an OK supporting cast and carry them to the playoffs.
Colt McCoy showed during the Texas Tech-Texas game that he can deliver under pressure, even though TTU won, he still showed a lot. Plus having a solid supporting cast of Crabtree, Branch, Burleson, and TE John Carlson it shouldn't be a problem.
Third-round pick: OT Alex Boone
Walter Jones isn't getting any younger, and neither is that offensive line, and even though Jones will still be the starting L.T. having Jones "mentor" Boone and showing him the ropes so that if Jones goes down with an injury or retires Boone can jump right in and be a top notch L.T. in the NFL. Plus knowing the Seahawks you can never have enough OL men.
Fourth-round pick: SS Kevin Ellison
Plane and simple anyone is and improvement over Brian Russell. I think Ellison will be a great backup because I see the 'Hawks signing a great SS in FA instead of drafting one.

I'm not too sure about Colt being available in the 2nd round. I would have to say the order of our needs are WR, CB/SS, OT, and then maybe pick up a young QB. A lot of great QB's have come in later rounds.

Aaron thank you for ur comment, ya about McCoy thats why I put IF in big letters becuase its a stretch. Now our needs for the Most part were meet with Crabtree, I think I'll swich McCoy for saftey Myron Rolle. Alex Boone would stay and then we can take a QB in the 4th round.

I doubt Colt McCoy comes out, unless Texas goes to the national championship. Even then, I think he is basically a white Seneca Wallace. I also doubt Kevin Ellison's availablity, he's going to be an underestimated commodity around April.

1) crabtree (this one is a must)
2) chung (as good as mays)
3) boone (underrated tackle)
4) jeramiah johnson (could be the best change of pace in the nfl).
