By now, most NBA fans know what happened in the final seconds of the third quarter between the Rockets and Suns. A sequence that teaches us one thing...Fear the Suns. This team should make the Playoffs in 08-09, but after what happened Wednesday night in the U.S. Airways Center, no one is going to want to meet Phoenix in a seven game series. Not even the Rockets, who needed the Sun's to shoot 37% (21% from 3-pt range), Tracy McGrady to play out of his mind in the second half (22 second half pt), Aaron Brooks to score 19 points, and Raja Bell to go scoreless in 23 minutes, just to pull out a 12 point win against the Sun's bench in the fourth quarter. Anybody who watched the game knows that it wasn't the Rockets defense, but rather the Sun's inability to make easy shots. The Suns missed countless follow-up layups, and even a missed dunk by Robin Lopez.

In April or May, Houston doesn't want to face this team, because frankly, it will be another first round exit, probably in five games. The bottom line is that Steve Nash doesn't care anymore, he has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in the NBA, but win a championship. If Phoenix doesn't beat you this season, their going to beat you up. They establish dominance, even down 19...and that goes a long way in the Playoffs.

  1. I like your point. The Suns were ice cold from the field and the Rockets had huge contributions from T-Mac and Aaron Brooks (the other NBA player besides Sam Cassell who looks like an alien). That being said, they did what they had to do to win. I felt that the fight was Alston's fault even though Matt Barnes' attempt to avoid a screen was a cheap shot. Alston charged Barnes and then went after Nash. I hope you're right about the Suns being a force in May; let's hope Shaq stays healthy!

    1. yeah, thanks man.

  2. This team has a certain grit that they've lacked in previous years, yet they're still fun to watch. I love it!
