The 32 year old left hander says he is flattered by the desire the Astros have shown in trying to keep him in Houston.

This doesn't mean he won't pitch for Houston in '09 but it probably means that if it does, it'll will be for more than the club originally offered him.

This could lead to the club pursuing other oppurtunities while Wolf tests the market, such as Andy Pettitte, Mike Hampton, Ben Sheets, or Derek Lowe.

  1. Good information. I hope they can keep him, but not at too high a price tag. What about left for dead, but only 28 yrs old, Mark Prior? He should come pretty cheap. The Astros have nothing to lose by bringing him in for a workout.

  2. I would say absolutely bring him in for a workout. They tried to sign him last year. But, it would have to be for cheap and incentive laden if they decided he was worth it.
