The Iowa Hawkeyes will host the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday morning—just one week after they upset the undefeated Penn State Nittany Lions. This game, however, will be a special one for the Hawkeyes as the seniors will play their last game at Kinnick Stadium.
Led by senior defensive tackles Mitch King and Matt Kroul, the Hawkeyes boast one of the most feared defenses in the Big Ten. The stellar defensive tackle combination has combined for 94 tackles (15.5 tackles for loss), five sacks, and a forced fumble.

Purdue looks to counter this Iowa defense with its stellar passing offense, which is third in the Big Ten.
Not only does Purdue have a good passing offense, but senior running back Kory Sheets has added another dimension, rushing for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.
While Kory Sheets has been a great back, Iowa running back Shonn Greene has stepped up his game and is dominating the opposition. Purdue will look to slow down Greene, who has rushed for over 100 yards in all 10 of Iowa's games this season. He is the only player in all of college football to have accomplished that feat.
The Hawkeyes have been known for their defense this season, but they are currently scoring 28 points per game on the offensive side of the ball.
The Hawkeyes will be ready for this game, and if they play like they did against Penn State they could dominate on this, the last contest to be played in Iowa City in 2008.

don't forget that Shonn Greene will be inching closer to Tavian Banks single season record for rushing yards in a season. I believe the record is 1691 or something like that from the top of my head. It should be interesting if he can get there. Shouldn't be too tough with a possible three games left. Also, the school record for TD's in a season is 17, with three games to go, this is also do-able!

JP i agree with you. I think Greene may be the best single season rusher this team has had in the last decade. Hopefully he sticks around in 2009!

Greene is awesome, another 200+ yard performance. It would be nice if he stuck around for his senior year but money talks and I would think he would be a sure first round pick between 10-20.

i'm not too sure that he would get drafted that high, but if he is projected to go that high he will surely be gone. I assume he'll be gone bc of his age (23 now, if he stays he'll be a 25 year old rookie) and that he will be a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick (I'd like to see his combine numbers first, and some catching drills)
