Hot Stove Player of the Week: Jay Feely
Here comes Friday. And here comes the Hot Stove Player of the Week. It was a tough decision this time around, with a lot of good performances to choose from, including two Jets games in one week.
They get a special award for beating the PatriotsโThe Everybody Hates the Patriots and Bill Belichick So Thanks For Whoopinโ Them Award. This weekโs prize for the winner is Tony โPaulie Walnutsโ Siricoโs new cologne. The secret ingredient is ruthless, out-of-control violence. Whatโs next? Silvio Danteโs Wig Emporium? โWe use real human hairโfrom people we killed ourselves.โ

Winnerย
Jay Feely: Yes, heโs only the kicker. But who else is going to make those field goals, Calvin Pace? The veteran kicker belted the game-winner through the uprights in OT last night against the hated Patriots and added a 22-yarder earlier in the game. Last Sunday he was four-for-four in field goal attempts, booting 22, 49, 46 and 55 yardersโthe last one tied him for the longest in franchise history with Pat Leahy and John Hall.
Runners Upย
Brandon Jacobs: He was 126 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns. Sure, he fumbled the ball once, but the ground game is what beat the Eagles.
Thomas Jones: The Jets running back had a monster game on Sunday against the Rams, rushing for 149 yards on 26 carries and crossed the goal line three times. Against the Patriots, all he did was gain 104 yards and score a TD.
Zach Randolph: The Knicks won three of four this past week, and Randolph was a big reason why (though Wilson Chandler, Chris Duhon and Nate Robinson threw in a few good games here and there).
The power forward put up double-doubles in each gameโ 22 points/13 rebounds in their win Friday against Washington, 25/14 in Sundayโs upset against Utah, 15/13 in the clunker in San Antonio and 18/10 in the romp over Memphis.
Jamal Crawford: The Knicks shooting guard is the teamโs leading scorer. He threw in 23, 32, 28 and 25 points this week, and added eight assists on Wednesday.
Dustin Keller: The Jets rookie tight end caught six passes for 107 yards and had a TD against St. Louis, and he followed it up with eight receptions for 87 yards against New England.
Brett Favre: No interceptions in his last two games. That stat equals victory for the Jets. He was 26 for 33 for 258 yards and two TDs against New England, plus he led the game-winning drive in OT. On Sunday vs. the Rams, he was an efficient 14 for 19, 167 yards, a TD and zero mistakes.
Anti-Player of the Weekย
Aaron Heilman: I know he hasnโt pitched in a month and a half, but so what? If he did pitch this week, he would have coughed up a few game-losing home runs. I just keep having nightmares about himโฆ
