Brock Lesnar Has Finally Impressed Me

MMA, Randy Couture, UFC, Brock Lesnar, Editorial

I was finally impressed with Brock Lesnar.  Not so much by his performance really. However, I think he would lose if he were to fight Randy Couture again.

Randy was definitely on his way to winning that fight, or so it seemed.  Brock caught Randy with a huge punch a little behind the ear to put him away.  Randy found a way to escape Brock's grasp every time as he was taken down.

He also gave Brock a lot of trouble with taking him down.  What really impressed me with the entire fight was Brock's ability to actually behave like a civilized human.  He wasn't pointing and laughing or acting like he was riding a bull instead of finishing the fight.

I will never be a Brock Lesnar fan.  I just think that maybe if he continues his civility, I might just learn to hate him a bit less.

  1. I think Brock Lesnar acts the way he does because he wants a reaction. In the WWE that is what they want, and even now, I think Brock cares more about getting any reaction than he does about being a big fan favorite.

Furthermore, I don't think that Couture would beat Lesnar if they fought again. There was no point in the fight at which Couture was winning. It was a good fight, but Lesnar was getting the better of it from start to finish.

All of that being said, I can understand why you don't like him.

    1. Brock really wasn't winning the fight to that point. It was one of those neither fighter was really winning the fight at that point, but you can tell it ws starting to bother Brock. He really couldn't do what he wanted to do, and it would have broken him if it would have kept going that way into the third or fourth round there would have been a noticable frustration, and Randy would have won the fight. I hope to see them fight again, but this time I wouldn't be so hateful toward Brock at the beginning of the fight.

  2. Brock Lesnar dominated this fight from beginning to end. He controlled couture standing, striking and on the ground. Randy landed a few punches plus escaped a position on the grownd and that was it. Brock was very nervous before and during this fight and still put a stamp on the victory. If they were to fight again the fight probably would not last one round.

    1. Next time if they fight try to watch it with your eyes open...there was no domination.

  3. Brock won the first round on all three judges scorecard then TKO'd him in the second and that's not dominating a fight.

    1. Winning a round is a hell of a lot different than dominating it.

  4. No, you get 10 points for winning a round and I think you get 100 if you "Dominate" it.

    Right?

    Wait.

You get 10 points no matter how you win a round? Holy hot shit and stop the press.

Lesnar was winning the fight and dominated Couture. Brock could not be budged by Randy and once Couture realized he couldnt move the behemoth it was all over.

    1. He had him pressed against the fence on more than one occasion. He also cut his eye which made Brock seem like he was going to cry. Randy did lose the first round, but he was not dominated.
