NFL, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Game Recap

The Houston Texans lost a heartbreaker to the Indianapolis Colts in Week Three, and they had a similar result in Week 11 in a 33-27 defeat.

Unlike in Week Three, the Texans (3-7) did not give up a big lead. However, they led 13-9 at halftime and 20-16 with 9:42 left in the third. The loss was the Texans' third straight after winning three in a row.

Rosenfels started in place of Matt Schaub for the second consecutive game, and the third time this season. Rosenfels completed 13 of 18 passes for 192 yards and one interception. Last season, Rosenfels was 4-1 in replacing Schaub; this season he is 0-3.

After one player out-rushed the Texans the last two games, the Texans had a better running game. Steve Slaton out-rushed the Colts, gaining 156 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown.

Kevin Walter led the team in receiving with three receptions for 79 yards. Andre Johnson had four receptions for 55 yards.

The Colts (6-4) won their third straight game, and remain in second place in the AFC South, four games behind the undefeated Tennessee Titans (10-0). Peyton Manning completed 30 of 46 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns.

Joseph Addai gained 105 yards on 22 carries and one touchdown. Dominic Rhodes gained 48 yards on 10 carries.

Reggie Wayne led the Colts in receiving with seven receptions for 90 yards. Marvin Harrison had nine receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown. Addai contributed four receptions for 48 yards and one touchdown.

The Texans had a 13-9 halftime lead, but the Colts, with their first possession of the third, took the lead for the first time. Addai and Harrison kept the ball moving for the Colts.

Addai gained 34 yards on five carries, and picked up one first down. Harrison caught three passes for 24 yards and picked up three first downs. Addai finished the drive catching a 23-yard pass on third down and eight, putting the Colts ahead 16-13.

The Texans responded to regain the lead using only three plays. Slaton gained one yard on first down and gained seven yards on second down. On third and two Slaton gained the last 71 yards to give the Texans their last lead with the score 20-16.

Manning needed only seven plays to regain the lead for the Colts. On first down and 10, Manning completed a 28-yard pass to A. Gonzalez. Wayne caught a 15-yard pass to the Texans’ 24. Harrison gained 11 yards. Once again, Addai finished off the drive, scoring on a seven-yard run, which would give the Colts the lead for good at 23-20.

After forcing the Texans into a three-and-out, the Colts would make it a two-score game. Rhodes helped the Colts move the ball, gaining 28 yards on four carries and five yards receiving. Harrison put an end to the 11-play drive with a 10-yard touchdown reception, increasing the Colts' lead to 30-20.

The Texans were able to respond, cutting the lead to three. Johnson and Slaton were the key contributors on the drive. Johnson caught two passes for 28 yards and Slaton gained 29 yards on three carries. Ahman Green punched it in from two yards to cut the Colts' lead to 30-27.

The Texans (3-7) will visit the Cleveland Browns (3-6), while the Colts (6-4) will visit the San Diego Chargers (4-6).
