Chicago Bulls Get Trampled By Portland Trail Blazers 116-74

Patti RodischNov 19, 2008

I have watched a lot of Chicago Bulls basketball, growing up just 20 miles away from the United Center and come November and the annual Circus trip I don't expect too much out this constantly developing team.

I have watched some awful offensive games and some awful defensive games. I have  watched this team struggle to rebound, block shots and even dribble at times. But last night was a  combination of all of these. Poor professional basketball.

The Bulls (5-7) were out of this from the first quarter. Down 30 points at one point. It took them four minutes into the first quarter to have a field goal and that point the Portland Blazers (7-5) already were up 21-3. Yes, 21-3.

It doesn't get any better for this "young" Bulls team. Foul troubles for second year player Joakim Noah and veteran Drew Goodin didn't allow this already poor post defense a shot as Portland stuffed it down the middle all night long.

The Bulls leading scorer came from Andres Nocioni who came off the bench to score  13 points. The Bulls struggled from the arc, the foul line. With Luol Deng sitting out this game with hamstring issues from Tuesday's loss to the Lakers, this team had no answer for Portland's half court offense.

Rookie Derrick Rose could not rescue this team, he was only one of eight and scored just six points. And the numbers don't get any better for this team. The Bull's were outscored  in every quarter Wednesday night.

The Bulls looked sloppy and ill-prepared for a very good Portland team. At times you would see players on the Bulls barely making it back up the  floor and Portland offense would already be back to work.

All night long I watched poor rebounding. The team only had 17 offensive rebounds and 16 defensive rebounds. Compare that to the Blazers 49 total rebounds. This Bulls team was outplayed both on the court and on the sidelines. They executed poorly when on offense and couldn't defend in the paint or the outside jump shot.

The Bulls head to Golden State (5-6) on Friday night. While Portland heads to Sacramento Kings (5-8) also on Friday.
