  1. Looks pretty spot on to me.

If the Hawks keep kicking ass on the "Circus Trip", I'll expect them to be top ten by the end.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Ray.

I really don't follow Chicago, but if they keep winning, then yes, they will, of course, move up.

  2. Great rankings. speaking as a north texas resident and partially hating myself for saying this, i say the Dallas Stars are well deserved to be in the bottom five in power rankings. i like to look at all the teams in depth and look at many contributors on every team, and the Stars are having trouble finding these kids of players. on the other hand the Hurricanes have all the talent in the world to be in the top 15 throughout the remainder of the season. Ray Whitney and Rod Brind Amour are definately showing their stuff. The Canes did have a bit of a terrible week last week, but i agree that they have bounced back. and those black jerseys are amazing.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Carter.

I'm glad you liked the article! Yes, living in Raleigh, I'm really following the 'Canes. That 4-game losing streak didn't have me happy, though. But then we came through in the SO vs. Tampa Bay and then came back to beat Montreal 2-1 in a game I attended. I really don't pay particular attention to the Stars, but have noticed they've really unperformed so far this season. I thought they'd be a 4 or 5 seed in the West this year, but they haven't played like it.

Oh, and by the way, I like those black jerseys, too. I'm surprised they've gotten recognition from a non-canes fan though, but I guess you just saw the article picture.

    2. yeah from the back they look a little like the Buffalo Sabres jerseys from about three or four years ago. it disappoints me that the sabres changed back into the old blue and gold (even though it was the original colors of the Sabres back in the day...)

    3. Yes, I agree, buffalo's new jersey is quite a bit uglier and unattractive than the one they've had for the past few seasons. No wonder buffalo hasn't gotten any votes in my poll!

  3. Nice job with these. You could make an argument for Detroit to be at the top (when can't you?), but other than that, these rankings are excellent.

    1. You could? Yes, of course they're the defending stanley cup champion, but I just can't see how a 16-3-1 (now 17-3-1) team could not be ranked no. 1. but yes, of course, they're a great team.

      thanks for commenting, though, jason!

  4. No argument from me on that point. San Jose is a great team, and easily a cup favorite at this point in the season.

  5. The NHL now has a team in Chicgo? Wow... when did THAT happen?

I bet the Chicago Blackhawks aren't happy about that upstart new Chicgo team stealing their name!

    ;)

    1. uh...............

what the heck are you talking about?

      o-kaaaaay..............
