All I have heard about this year is the big bad Tennessee Titans. Nobody can handle their defense. It smothers their opponent's ground attack. Nobody can handle their power running game. And don't even think about stacking the box on them because Kerry Collins has shown he can hurt you deep.
The 10-0 Titans were going to beat the Jets and challenge for a perfect season.
Wrong.
I won't bother recapping all the specifics about Sunday's beatdown in Nashville, since it is already so late on Monday, Here is what was obvious on the field on Sunday:
First, the Jets marched into Tennesee and manhandled the Titans proving they are the superior team. The Jets stopped the Titans powerful running game. I don't care what anybody said in the Tennessee locker room after the game.
- B/R Ticket Guide
Tennessee isn't going to win many games with Darrelle Revis, Ty Law, and Kerry Rhodes in the secondary. Sorry, but, Kerry Collins, Justin Gage, and Justin McCariens aren't winning any games in January if they have to carry the load.
Secondly, the Jets offense is loaded. Brett Favre is playing near perfect football right now, which makes the Jets dangerous enough but their offense goes so much further beyond him. Thomas Jones has been a beast this year. Leon Washington is one of the most explosive players in the NFL. The offensive line is stacked, and what team can cover Jerricho Cotchery, Laveranues Coles, and Dustin Keller? I know the Titans can't and until this Sunday, they were the consensus best team in the AFC.
Also, the Jets clearly outcoached Tennessee. Nobody is calling for Eric Mangini's head anymore. The guy had his team ready to play, had the Titans offense completely figured out and an offensive gameplan that minimized their pass rush and ability to create big plays.
It is time for Jets to start dreaming big. This is a playoff team. This is the front-runner for the AFC East title. Now it is time to start concentrating on securing a first round bye. The Jets need to handle Denver at home, who just got embarrassed by Oakland (they lost by 21, not on a 56 yard field goal on OT), the two college teams from the NFC West (Seattle and San Francisco) and their two divisional rivals who they have beat on the road already (Buffalo and Miami).
Yes, I am saying the Jets may need to go 13-3 or 12-4 to make sure they have a bye, and with their schedule it is possible.
What I saw on Sunday was a team completely dominate another team in every phase of the game. It isn't everyday you see a 10-0 team embarrassed in their building. Who else do the Jets have to beat to make believers out of everyone? Right now there is only one team in the NFL better than the Jets, and they happen to share the same building with them.

I think the reason the Jets are overlooked by some is because they should be 10-1 right now. Their first loss came to a New England team that had a fresh new QB. They lost that game it wasn't that they were beaten by NE...Favre was just learning the offense then, and without a QB you can't win games. Look at the Jets over the past few years.
They just straight out got beaten by the Chargers. There are no excuses to make for that game, SD just came out and played better that game.
And finally the Raiders. The Jets played USC football against them. There was no question in anyone's mind outside of the Bay Area that the Jets would destroy them, but the Raiders actually played the game and the Jets lost.
So the Jets lost twice and were beaten once...that was early in the season, but it is still stinging. I think they can still win out the rest of the season, especially how they have been playing...they will have to lose those games. I don't think they will be beaten.

That is a very bold statement. Teams, especially the JETS change from week to week this season.

As a Jets fan you have the choice to take the bag off your head or not. -but if you don't take the bag off now? -when if ever?
Jets vs Giants (true battle of the Titans)

No need for a bag on your head. The Jets always had the potential to be a good team recently...the only problem with them not being a 9-7 team or better over the past few years is that they didn't have a QB...Pennington was as durable as rice paper, and so they were left with no QB. Then this year they went from being a good team to a top team, and it shouldn't have taken anyone by surprise...it was only a matter of time before Favre learned the offense, that takes care of the QB. Then with all of the off-season additions, I could have seen them going 8-8 at worst this year. Like I told everyone when the Jets were brought up before it's really hard to win a game with no one to snap the ball to.

8-3 is a dramatic change from 4-12. The Jets looked dysfunctional in the early part of the season. They won most of the games they were supposed to. Now they are winning games they weren't suppose to. The game plans have improved and the Jets are attacking the defenses. They get it going by passing first, then mixing in the potent running attack.
GO JETS.

I think that the top team in the AFC is either the Jets or Steelers. I'm so excited about the Jets right now, and I really think they can run the table, but Jets fans can't get to cocky. Remember that this is the Jets that we're talking about here.

You are talking about the team that lost to Oakland and just got by KC a few weeks ago. The Jets had 10 days to prepare last Sunday and it showed. They are a solid team but lets not get crazy.....yet.

USC style football. They can play the tough teams and win, but teams they should beat easily they have problems with.

the jets what can brett farve do is wow making a 4-12 team to a 8-3 team is good the jets should go 12-3
from about 1 month ago
-believe it: ---Jets---> 13-3 + playoff wins
You are talking about the Farve era Jets now.
This is now the team that strikes fear in all the other teams. Beat the Pats, NJ steamrolled the Titans, >add your team here<.

You can't give all that credit to Brett Favre. With just a QB in the game they would have been a team with a winning record. They have made some serious off season additions...This was a whole team turn around. Not just Brett

1 question: Would this team be as good without Brett Favre? -past history would say no.
Favre slowly has turned this team, coaches, media, and slowly fans into believers. Everyone believes in this team now.
Some Jets fans still have a bag over their heads. -And I understand that. All I am saying is that if you are a Jets fan, be a fan, and support the team (bag over your head or not)
If you wait too long, Grandma may want her season tickets back. -I am expecting older Jets fans to come out of the woodwork soon. =You won't be able to get a ticket. +plus you have Green Bay fans, big-time Miss fans, Nyc bandwagoners (ex-Giants fans).
---Jets--->

Plus the ex Patriot fans that will jump on the bandwagon after the pats fall to an 8-8 team
