Terrelle Pryor was a very young player this year and needed to learn a lot. There was a lot of controversy about whether or not senior QB, Todd Boekman, should have been the starter all year.
Tressel must have seen something that nobody else saw because it went form Boekman and Pryor sharing snaps to Pryor being the starter. Pryor worked himself from third-string to starter in just a matter of weeks.
In his first start against Troy University, he started his legacy with four touchdown passes. Since then, he's thrown eight more touchdowns, giving him 12 for the season, and a passer rating of 152. He started the last nine games of the season going 8-1 and the loss was his best game yardage-wise.
He's shown great potential. But, will he be the next Heisman winner at Ohio State? If Chris "Beanie" Wells stays another season, he will be a favorite to win, just like last year, and could win it all. But with Beanie's injuries, experts think he will go to the draft so his stock doesn't go down.
I think Pryor will not only be in the race, but if he keeps improving and getting better, there are endless possibilities for him.
Seven of the last eight Heisman winners have been Quarterbacks, including Troy Smith, the last great in Ohio State's club of six Heisman trophy winners (seven trophies including Archie Giffin's second).
Terrelle Pryor has Heisman potential, let's see if he lives up to his hype.

Not in 2009. Should be in 2010 if he stays focused.

Geeez... putting the cart before the horse a little here aren't we? Pryor will be a great player for the Buckeys, no doubt there... the bigger questions for OSU in the short term are who is going to step up on the defense next year to account for all the graduating players and will they be able to run block better than they did this year. Pryor should help the line by developing a quicker release and not running into so many sacks, but his over-all success really depends on what Ohio State has in place around him. 2009 wouldn't be the year. Maybe 2010 or 2011.

I think Ross Homan will be the one to step up for the defense like James Laurinaitis did his sophmore year. Pryor does need to learn a lot but he went from questioning himself earlier on, to coming outta that off season making decisions right away.
