Who was the Greatest Impact Player of all time?
Who made a difference after a trade, turning a team around into a World Series Champion?
Frank Robinson - Reggie Jackson - Pete Rose - Babe Ruth
The Babe made a big difference to the Yanks. We all know that story (Four World Championships and six pennants). After the Babe left, they did pretty darn good, winning another 22 World Championships.
How about Reggie, coming to Yanks and winning two World Series in a row or and getting to a third and losing. The Yankees did not do so well after Reggie left, however they had been to the World Series the year before he arrived in NY.
Pete Rose helping the Phil's win their (at that time) only World Series Championship and getting to another and losing. The Phillies had been won two Pennants with in the past three years. Or we can look at an old 30-year-old Ntional leaguer, getting traded to the Baltimore Orioles. The year 1966, Frank wins the Triple Crown, the O's win their first pennant, and sweep the Dodger's in the World Series. Frank spent six years in Baltimore, winning the pennant three more times and adding another Championship (four pennants in six years).
I think it was Frank Robinson who made the biggest impact on an organization.
