The NFL's 2008 regular season has only a few weeks of football left, and I'm sure there are plenty of fans and players thankful for that. It's been a rough few months for teams and their faithful that began the year with high hopes.
Despite their misery and misfortune, it's important to remember the things that do make us happy, such as time with family, our health, being employed with today's economy, and so forth and so on.
But that's all too common; it's a given. It's not that I don't appreciate the great things in life, or the people I share them with. It's that I appreciate all facets of life, and look for happiness everywhere!
As an avid NFL fan, I'm thankful for the game and the endless hours of entertainment and drama it provides week in and week out.
So, without further ado, here are the five things I'm most thankful for, as far as the pigskin is involved:
5. Bleacher Report
Go ahead and call me a suck up, it's okay. I promise I won't get angry.
All of us that read and participate here should be thankful to this site, and the great minds that made it possible. We're all part of something unique and, honestly, ground-breaking on B/R.
I come here for sports news and opinions before I check out some of the big sites. There are no agendas here—just pure passion for sports. And it's run by people that do everything in their power to legitimize the site and the registered writers.
On a selfish note, I was involved in the independent hip-hop scene for a long time. I made music for over seven years and saw limited success. I had a couple of videos done, performed on stages in New York, and had a song on an album that was released nationally and is available on iTunes.
I've received more attention in my four months on this site than I ever did musically.
Maybe I was never as good as I thought I was with my music. Maybe the industry is fickle and saturated. But being published on CBS Sports and Fox Sports, quoted around the web, and actually appreciated by readers is a great feeling.
And I owe that to the team at Bleacher Report.

angel, love it. i'm working on something that will be out later today with a thanksgiving theme. geared towards, who else, but the falcons.
one of the nfl things i'm most thankful is the good guy story. stories like cassel, warner, ryan (hell, even favre) are good. they've all been challenged in a variety of ways, and they've answered the call. and collins too. and those are just the quarterbacks. dunn's having a nice resurging kind of year in tampa. jenkins, as you mentioned, as returned to form and played a HUGE role in the jets this year.
i enjoyed it as always angel.

Looking forward to reading it, sir!
That's definitely a good angle on a story though. People like good guys that play very well. Warrick Dunn is the prototype, that's for sure.

Thank you, Tom! And the same to you. I wish the best to you and yours!

Yeah pure football is back. I love watching a defensive battle. As you can imagine, I'm a Ravens fan.

And the Ravens have been the prototype for strong defense for years. The Giants and Colts took it to them this year, but that rep is phenomenal.

Yeah Ray always sets the tone. Did you see Reed's return last week?

Definitely caught the highlights. The guy is still a great player.

Ray or Ed? Or both? lol.

Angel,
I don't know what your music was like but your prose is brilliant. Despite you being a Jets fan, I'm still going to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for the compliment, Glenn. And I wish the same for you and yours.

Great Article Angel, I actually agree with you on #4 even though it's at the expense of my team. It's good for football to have fresh teams playing great football. I do wish the Pats had a taste of #2, not so much as of late. As for #1, shouldn't you just title it "The Green Bay Packers"? Have a good holiday man, and if you wouldn't mind losing to the Broncos I'd apreciate it.

Nah, I think I'd like for us to win outright for the rest of the season. That'd be pretty fun.

If the Lions are not playing on Thanksgiving next year, that could be added to the list. Have a great holiday Angel!

Thank you, sir! Enjoy your day as well.

Nice work...I would add the flexible TV schedule and no more Bryant Gumbel on NFLN.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
from about 1 month ago
The flex schedules are definitely awesome. But I'd have to add my DVR, too. Doesn't matter when the game airs.. I record it ALL!

Lots of things to be thankful for, no doubt. Although all the talk of Giants-Jets in the SB make me kind of nervous. Not thankful for all of that positive coverage!

I'm still getting accustomed to it. Pete Prisco from CBS even retracted statements he's made about the Jets to give them some love. It's kind of frightening. I liked flying under the radar. But if this all means a Super Bowl is in the future, I'm all for it.

Happy Thanksgiving, man! Thanks for reading.

Nice job as usual Angel. Funny you say something about the Packers secondary, they got torched Monday Night! But good list, have a good holiday!

Nothing to feel too bad about. Drew Brees has been doing it all year.

Your Jets are doing well...we'll see if they keep it up...good article and I really like that picture!

I'm thankful that the Bengals are 1-9-1....haha...what??
Great job again Angel.

Great article! I'm also thankful that Brett's non-retirement has actually produced something. I was fearful.
I'm not, however, thankful that Rodgers threw 3 INTs on Monday night. Not at all. It's a frustrating time to be a Packers fan, that's for sure.

Angel,
I'm thankful that the Broncos will give the Jets a good game and perhaps even win. Additonally, I'm thankful to see Lisa Salters roving sidelines in college football and the NBA and I'm grateful that Obama will give us a college football playoff!
