Many of you have voted, and for that I am thankful.

Just for the record, I will be announcing the winner, and the honorable mention—second place, unless there is no real second-place winner (meaning if one person got six votes and the rest got one, I'm not naming a second-place winner).

The results are in!  Here are the winners for the second monthly Bleacher Report NHL section awards for November 2008:

Most Consistent Writer:  Michael Wagner (Honorable Mention: Ken Armer)

Most Comical Writer: Daniel Sallows (Honorable Mention: Greg Caggiano)

Most Controversial Writer: Tyler Hill

  • B/R Ticket Guide

Best Series: Tie: Alan Bass' Stefan Legein "Series" and BR Monthly Awards

Up and Coming: Andrew Echevarria, (Honorable Mention, Harani T)

Best Editor: Maya Filipovic (Honorable Mention, Chandra Zorr)

Most Intelligent Writer: Bryan Thiel (Honorable Mentions: Ken Armer and Alan Bass)

Funniest Article: "The Differences Between a Relationship and Ice Hockey", By Daniel Sallows

Most Controversial Article: "Don Cherryism: For True Hockey Fans", By Tyler Hill

Best Article: "NHL: Are They Ruining the League For the Young Guys?", By Alan Bass

Best Writer: Alan Bass (Honorable Mention: Bryan Thiel)

Congratulations to everyone who won—and to everyone who didn't, better luck next time. Keep writing, and your award will come.

To all the winners—I will be sending you a signed mouthguard in the next week, per Eric Kuzmiak's request.

Thanks to everyone who voted, and I'll be looking forward to doing this again in a month's time!

  1. Thanks to everyone who voted for me! 2nd up and coming awards! Looks like I'll have to go for another award next year.

  2. Christmas is coming up boys....let's turn up the gears (as some of us students will FINALLY have some free time) and start pumping out some stellar stuff!!

    BT

    1. Hellz yes! I agree completely. Once I'm off of school, there will be Flyers' articles galore from me, being at practice basically every day and in the locker room.

    2. I have semester exams =( But here in Chile, we get 2 months off!!!

  3. Hey Alan, does this mean I get two signed mouthguards?

    1. Nah, that's boring. You'll get my mouthguard when I'm done with it. And then for this month's award, you can get my jockstrap when I'm done with it.

    2. whats a jockstrap? (if its the same as a jock, sorry Alan, but its probably gonna be too small for me xD)

    3. Ugh ... Alan's jockstrap as a prize? I'll wallow in obscurity, thank you very much! heh heh ....

    4. Ouch, guys, ouch. Bashing ur CL like that? Daaaaamn haha

  4. Yes Alan, practices galore. Cannot wait to see that mug walking around voorhees

    1. Hehe see you in the press box!

  5. Yay! Thanks to everyone who voted for me.
I've only been on B/R for just over a month so I really appreciate this :)

    1. Well thanks for editing our articles, Maya!

    2. Way to go Maya!! I'm proud of Bleacher Report for making the right choice!!!!

  6. I am honored to be named most consistent writer for the month of november. Thank you to those of you who voted for me. I really appreciate this honor.

    1. No problem, Michael.

  7. Thanks for the mention...it really means a lot..i'm taking a break now coz of exams but I will start writing after my finals...Thanks again guys!

    1. Np Harani, keep up the great work! And yes, study for finals, I should be doing the same....

  8. Alan you owe me 3 mouthgaurds, you better get on that. Start chewing them so you go through them faster.

    1. Tyler, we all know you just want whatever is in my mouth...

    2. uhm...I don't think so. But, you can beleive that if i makes you feel better.

    3. Tyler...why are you on Bleacher Report at 7 in the morning?

  9. Nice work Alan. It's great that you highlight some of the work people put into the site each month.

Here's hoping that my NHL Fantasy Files gets a few nominations next month!

    1. Thanks, Josh!! And perhaps it will!

    2. no wait, edit

*Tyler, why are you on Bleacher Report at 7am asking Alan to put your stuff in his mouth...

    3. opps sorry, wrong comment lol...what happened to the delete your comment or reply button thingy?

  10. Nice job compiling all this stuff Alan. Hopefully I can get enough petitions to make the Ducks put "Mighty" back in front of their names, and I can write an award-winning article about the struggle!

    1. Good luck with that

    2. I wonder if I really could get people thinking that this is an actual issue? Who knows. Perhaps there are disgruntled Ducks fans out there who want to go back to the Duck Mask jersey days.

    3. Id like to see the Ducks go with a third jersey with style like the old mighty Ducks days...but I'm probably a minority there.

  11. Hey guys,

I read over my comment again - you're right - it's WAY too harsh. Sorry, i was having a rotten time with something totally unrelated to this site, and I'm afraid you got the brunt end of my frustrations...I can get very sarcastic, and frankly, just plain nasty sometimes. It doesn't justify it, just letting you know what was going on.

I sincerely apologize, and state for the record that I'm sure there are many talented writers on this site...keep writing, I look forward to contributing in a more constructive fashion in the future.

    1. Thanks for the change of heart, Brian. Try writing some articles, join the fun!

    2. wait a minute...the "Brian" from before made the initial comment, and now this one, therefore he made 2 comments...however, on this Brian's profile, it states that he has only made one comment!! Something smells fishy
