the best for the Raiders. The players make the play's, Davis doesn't. The Players make the mistakes on the field, Davis doesn't. The players make penalties, Davis doesn't. How much control over winning and losing does Davis have? I think we need to leave the Al Davis drama in the trash when it's game time and let the players go out and PLAY... Remember when Dallas had all the Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Jones Drama...They WON games...Hmmmm what is the real issue? Al Davis or players not making plays? With the big win over Denver, the Raiders now need to focus on what works and keep winning! The Division is still up for grabs so lets go Raiders!!!

Are you saying that all that young talent (Russell, McFadden, Fargas, Asomugha, Johnson, Bush, Miller, ect...) are broken cars? Think about what you said for just a minute... The Oakland Raiders have a lot of talent on that team. No one really asked J. Walker or Hall to win games, thank god. Yeah those two players were bad Idea's but heck Walker barely even played...Don't have blinders on, look deep and you'll realize that this team can win and they should be. No need to Blame Al Davis, The Raiders need to look deep within themselves and pull out the talents they have hidden inside. Once you get over yourself, you will realize that no one said they DIDN'T! Simply said Dallas had DRAMA and still could WIN games. Hell you make my point even better, No Drama they didn't win...LOL This wasn't made for a back and forth verbal war, I wrote this column because "WE" Raider fans need to realize that Al Owns the team and pays these guys a lot of money, so they need to figure out a way to earn what they get, NOT blame Al. Ok, lol. here's an "interesting" point.
Dallas had no drama when Jimmy Johnson's team kicked butt. None. Everything was peaches.
Jerry Jones was basically new. Johnson ran the team. Dallas won. Johnson got most of the credit, if not all.
Jones THEN stated, during an interview, that it was he that was responsible for Dallas's success, not Johnson. That, and I quote "anyone could have won with the team I put on the field".
Johnson got pissed, and he was gone shortly thereafter.
Just thought you would like that cleared up.
And sorry to burst your bubble, but my original point stands, and it's dead on.
Perfect example. Cardinals owner, Bidill (Bidwell?) was notorius for saving money, and signing discount players.
Like it or not, when that group of players failed, decade after decade, it was on the owner, not the players. The owner gave the players no chance to succeed, try as they may.
Al signs another running back, when Fargas and Bush, along with 3 others were already on the team. Team needed a quality left tackle.
Team needed a star WR.
Team needed a defensive lineman.
Instead Al signs another running back. Pays 50 million to an injured Walker who has done nothing. Paid 70 million to a whack Hall, who has done nothing except get burned.
That's all on Al.
Just like the coaching caravan. A nonstop disaster. That equates to no consistency.
All on Al. Not the players, Al.
