The Oakland Raiders used to have the most prolific running back in football, do they have his replacement?

Some people think ( I'm one of them) that we do.  Darren McFadden has so many talents it's incredible.  He can run, pass, catch, and make big plays...He can run up the middle and around the corner, but can he become the player we all expect?

Well here's some food for thought...  Darren McFadden ran for over 1000 yards EVERY year he played college.  He also played in the "Wild Hog" and "Wildcat" formations with great success... Darren McFadden brings to the Raiders what they have been missing since Bo Jackson.

This is also interesting...When Bo was around he had a great backup named Marcus Allen. Now D-Mac has Justin Fargas (starter for now). Can these two become the tandem they should be?  I think so.  Now we may want to invite Mike Shanahan to camp and show us how he can make any running back look like a star in Denver...LOL.

The O-Line for the Raiders MUST protect Russell long enough to keep the D's on there toes due to his excellent ability to throw the ball from endzone to endzone, that will give McFadden more opportunities to handle the rock and gain very important yards.  Leave this offense on the field and were gonna see some fireworks from these talented players.

Recipe for success? O-Line.  Maybe Oakland should bring in Bo Jackson as the running back coach and he could enlighten our young stars.  Just a thought.

  1. Dorky, You have no business even writing...BEAT IT! To all the "real" fans, lets keep our heads up and our support our team no matter how many games we win or lose. Real fans don't band wagon.

  2. Hey Stevie boy....JaMarcus looked pretty bad last week with a 149 QB rating didn't he? Yeah, he's terrible. He's had such good support from his receivers and O-Line, and consistent coaching, and he still can't get it done. I don't think I've ever seen such an astute analysis

    1. thanks for the comments Justin and your so right, J-Russ is looking like Todd Marinovich about now...OUCH!

  3. J-Russell is def having a rough year...No Doubt. There's potential there but it's gonna take a lot of work. I'm hopeful though...

  4. To: dorkey steve and the rest of you haters

So what if he only attempted 11 passes. What matters is that he completed 10 of those 11. Comparing McFadden to Bo is not that far of a stretch either. Both of them are threats to take it to the house whenever carrying the ball.

And if the Raiders are so bad then why are you punks using you spare time to look up Raiders articles to talk a bunch of crap.

    RAIDERS4LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F THE HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. GOT THAT RIGHT! ROC

    2. Raiders for life, even if they suck right now

  5. Great job big ROC !!!! Now what haters? LOL

  6. With all due respect to Bo, whom I hold in high regard, the best back IMO was Marcus Allen. Sure he didn't have Bo's size and strength, but Marcus could really do it all for a skill position player.

In addition to his running Marcus could block, catch, and throw. He was there all the time for his team. How many league MVP's would move to another position when a player like Bo would come in for half a season.

Why? Marcus was a team player and a winner. He wanted to win more than get all the glory. It's one reason why when he was getting the shaft from Al Davis in the end of his Raider career that the rest of the team would vote for him to win team honors. They knew he was a winner.

Art Shell was so gutless he would keep Marcus off the field for big chunks of the game per Al's bidding. When it got down to crunch time and the Raiders needed to move the ball, Marcus would be on the field though.

It's really pathetic how a player who lived the "Just Win, Baby" creed got hosed by it's most vocal proponent. That's how the NFL really works though: it doesn't matter if you won or lost, just how much money did you make.

  7. Great point JC. Marcus was a GREAT! I have his Superbowl MVP jersey and he is a "hero" in my house. Great point JC. This article could have easily been with Marcus instead of Bo, I loved Bo too though, what a great 1-2 combo we had...

  8. bro, grow up and get a life of your own. and maybe a girlfriend or something.
