First of all, let me say that I cannot wait for this fight. These two boxers are very fun to watch. Both show emotional aggression, and tend to get into middle of the ring trade-offs. Both have boasting stamina, speed, and chins.
Arce’s output is much greater than that of Darchinyan, but power and accuracy are not up to par. It is very hard for me to pick a winner in this fight. Usually, I can at least say who is more likely to win, but in this fight I really don’t know. For me, it’s 50/50. Maybe that’s why this fight is so interesting and exciting to me.
Arce has great work rate, and is pretty dangerous if he gets you against the ropes. He can go all round long, and even though his percentage of landed shots is pretty small, he still gets the points. If he gets you in trouble, he will get that KO no matter what. Also, he has a lot of heart, he will not quit, and will always give 100 percent no matter what the circumstances are.
Darchinyan is a very careful fighter. I can see him spending most of that fight in a defensive shell looking for the opportunity to fire off his lighting right hand. As for the title of my article, I think that that’s his best bet. He will not be able to outwork Arce, neither will he be able to push him around.
Going toe to toe with Arce would be pretty dangerous. So I think that his best bet, would be to let Arce work, look for an opening (lot of those with Arce, he is open very often), and fire off that crazy right hand. His right hand shots are not only super fast, but they are very accurate and strong.
If a 12UD, I would slightly lean towards Arce, If a KO will be the result in the fight, I would lean slightly towards Darchinyan. Again, I really think it’s a great fight, with even odds.
