Last February it couldn't have been any harder to be a Jets fan.
They were coming off an embarrassing 4-12 year, had no quarterback, and were completely irrelevant. To top it off, their arch-rivals and the team they share a building with met in one of the greatest Super Bowls ever.
The Jets were a joke.
Oh, how a few months can change everything. The Jets are now on a five game winning streak, leading the AFC East and are arguably the second best team in the NFL. They have beat Buffalo in Buffalo, beat New England in New England, and knocked off the 10-0 Titans in their building.
Here are the top five things Jets fans have to be thankful for this season:
1. The Big Man - Kris Jenkins has been a complete beast on the defensive line. He has anchored the improved Jets run defense and provided a swagger to the entire unit. If you can stop the run, you can win in January and right now you can't run the ball on the Jets.

2. #29 - Leon Washington is finally receiving recognition as one of the most explosive players in the NFL. He takes kicks back to the house, rips off 60-yard touchdown runs, and slices defenses up on screen passes.
3. The Front Five - The Jets have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, allowing Thomas Jones to become the AFC's leading rusher. They have also improved their pass protection immensely over the past few weeks. D'Brickashaw Ferguson has made major strides in his third year, Nick Mangold is playing like a pro-bowler, and Brandon Moore is quietly having a great year. The two new additions, Alan Faneca and Damien Woody are both also having solid seasons.
4. Playmakers - The Jets defense is making big plays on a consistent basis. Unlike last year, they are sacking the quarterback and turning the ball over. Bryan Thomas, Abram Elam, Shaun Ellis, Eric Barton, and Calvin Pace are all putting together career years.
5. Obviously, the Quarterback - It obviously makes a difference to have Brett Favre behind center. I don't have to list all the reasons because they are apparent to anybody who watches the Jets play.

Well said.
Honestly you could have probably listed Brett Favre five times because without his addition, as good as Jenkins, Leon and the offensive line have been, this team would be hovering around .500 at best
Favre brought a new culture to this team and his presence gives his teammates the feeling that they can go out and beat anybody, on any given Sunday.
