There he sat, with tearful eyes, tugging on "his" captain's armband in the centre of the pitch as if life had come to an end; truly it followed a 2-2 stalemate with Birmingham City.

William Gallas has been stripped of captaincy, a move that took long coming but was inevitable anyway; as Arsenal fans would tell you, "he was never captain material."

Respect.

One of FIFA's prime motos has been lost in the pipeline; I'm not relating to referees or managers in any direct way.

Not too long ago, Graeme Souness was in charge at Newcastle United and the Magpies witnessed a brutal physical battle between Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer on the pitch, the outcome—two red cards.

The Rooney-Ronaldo controversy in Germany has drawn it's fair share of critics but it stands out, a healthy rivalry between opponents never hurt anybody.

A commercial world has made football into a business.

It's a dog-eat-dog world..

Respect.

A complete farce.

Professionals in the past in every profession stood out because they admitted their mistakes and my dear Gallas and his outbursts sum up our sad situation.
