It's time to add another round to the 2009 NFL Mock draft.
Rounds one, two, and three are in.
The order of selections are based on current standings.
Round 1:
1. Detroit Lions- Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
Detroit's offensive line needs serious help although they drafted Gosder Cherilus in the first round last year. Detroit is 29th in the league in rushing yards with just over 83 per game.
2. Kansas City Chiefs- Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
Two offensive lineman picked in a row. Kansas City has a solid quarterback in Tyler Thigpen that can progress for next season. Kansas City will have two good tackles in Brandon Albert and Andre Smith.
3. Cincinnati Bengals- Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
Cincinnati will most likely be without T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Chad Ocho Cinco next season. Michael Crabtree is an explosive target who has 18 touchdown receptions in his sophomore season.
4. St. Louis Rams- Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
Bye Marc Bulger! Hello Matt Stafford! It's time to start fresh in St. Louis and what better than to start with a great Quarterback with a gun-slinger for an arm.
5. Seattle Seahawks- Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
People constantly say that Seattle needs a receiver. What they fail to realize is that they still have Ben Obamanu and Nate Burleson who went out for the year early. Yes, they are not great receivers but they are improving. Seattle also has Deion Branch getting healthier and a veteran in Bobby Engram. Seattle can improve it's line and running game with this pick.
6. San Francisco 49'ers- Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
San Francisco's offensive line has already given up 40 sacks this year which is pathetic. Eugene Monroe is a big offensive tackle that will fill a big need and allow Frank Gore to improve even more.
7. Oakland Raiders- Taylor Mays, S, USC
Oakland benched Michael Huff in favor Hiram Eugene–Yeah. Oakland hasn't gone receiver in many years which is why I dont have them taking one year. I mean if you had Chaz Schilens on your squad I wouldn't take a receiver in the first either. That was sarcasm. Oakland will likely release or trade Michael Huff.
8. Houston Texans- Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
Houston only has nine sacks on the season. Eight of those are from Mario Williams. The Texans need another pass rush that is quick and agile like Brian Orakpo.
9. Cleveland Browns- James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State
Cleveland's Willie McGinest will retire at the end of the season. The Browns are 27th against the run which is a big reason why they lose games. Laurinaitis is one of the smartest players in all of college football that can make a difference on any defense.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars- Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
Jacksonville hasn't worked out well for Drayton Florence. The Jaguars need to improve their secondary. Malcolm Jenkins may not start right away but one day he will.
11. San Diego Chargers- Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
The Chargers don't have many needs to fill despite being 4-7. San Diego is getting older at the linebacker spot in the middle. Rey Maualuga is a hard-hitting linebacker that will team well with Shawne Merriman.
12. Green Bay Packers- Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama
Justin Harrell hasn't been a success for Green Bay since they drafted him. Terrence Cody is a run-stuffer which

Laurinaitis will go higher than 9. For sure.
Tim Tebow 16th? What are you smoking my son. He will go top 5 for sure. He is a talent that has not been seen in the NFL for AGES.
Harvin won't go this year...at least, I hope not. But still 28 is kinda low for a player like Harvin.

Tim Tebow is not an NFL quarterback. I see him struggling in the NFL. I do like, however, how you have the Lions selecting linemen with their first two picks. They need line help. I'm so sick of people saying they need a quarterback. WEll, no quarterback could succeed in Detroit without SOME KIND of pass protection.

Tebow may not be a pro style quarterback, but his talent is undeniable

I agree with every word Josh said above.
"Tebow is both a running and passing quarterback which the Vikings haven't had since Daunte Culpepper."
Sure, he's a running and passing quarterback, but in a spread offense. The Vikings do not run the spread offense, not by a long shot. If he were drafted by the Saints it might just work out, but not the Vikings.
Now if we could get our hands on Stafford...:)

Well, they don't run the spread now, but they won't have the same coach next year so who knows right? Anyways, I'm kinda sick of people saying Tebow is not an NFL QB. He is dominating the best conference in college football the last two years, and he has great size how does that not translate to the NFL?

Stafford? Stafford? He has yet to show me anything spectacular. I watch him almost every week, he is an average quarterback at best.
Tebow has more talent than anyone we have ever seen, he will be able to make it in the NFL

I think the Lions will use the 2nd first rounder on a lineman and the first overall on something big. Maybe QB or a defensive player

The Cowboys have great depth on the D-Line. They need depth on the O-line dude.

Andrew, Im not saying Tebow is for sure going to be the greatest thing. Vikings are a quarterback and another weapon on offense away from the super bowl. Matthew Stafford would be great and if he fell I would take him over Tebow. As I see it, Stafford won't fall past the 10th pick at most.

I like what you did for the redskins, my only thing is that I'd like to switch what they do. I think we need to go OL in the first and DL in the 3rd....why??? for just the reason you laid out, our 2 starting guards are 33 and 35, and our C and RT are 31,and 32 going on 33....we need a youth movement on our OL, badly!!
Rabach and Jansen have played horribly this year... we may have Jansen's replacement in Stephon Heyer, but we need to draft a C, and we should take the best one in the draft
Alex Mac!

Anybody remember Eric Crouch? Tebow is a great run-first pass-second QB. However, how many pro QBs are like that in the NFL? Even McNabb has turned into a pass-first QB.
Granted, Tebow has some size. Granted, he dominates in arguably the best conference in college football (this is coming from a Big Ten/Big East guy). My only issue is his run-first tendency. Also, he's a system quarterback in a system that isn't utilized in the pros.
While Stafford may seem less talented (and by less talented i mean less accomplished), he's more pro-ready than Tebow. However, i'm pretty positive Bradford will go first anyhow.
