The head coaching job for the Oakland Raiders isn't the most secure job in football...That's for sure. There has been more coaches than Quarterbacks for the Oakland Raiders and they go through QB's like underwear. After the head office there in Oakland released Jon Gruden, I think we all thought "WTF?"
The Raiders have had a horrible past record against old coaches. (the Good ones) Shanahan has handed us our rear ends for years. Gruden humiliated us in the "Big Show". Heck, even Norv Turner beats us now. Luckily Lane Kiffin will go back to college so we can wipe the sweat off of our foreheads for that one.
So whats next in the coaching dept.? Can Al leave Tom Cable in there to work out the bugs and maybe get this team on track for respect again? Or will Crazy Al try Jim Fassel, who brings nothing to the table that Cable can't accomplish?
Note to Al: I'm with you no matter what decision you might make with the Raiders. I will support you Al because your the leader of this franchise...BUT... I need you to sit back and think for a minute. Stop throwing in and out coaches to try and fix something that needs more than just fixing! The Oakland Raiders need nurturing and building, not tyranny. I say give Tom Cable a chance to make this team a good, respectable, winning team again. I'm not Al though so we'll all just sit back and enjoy the ride, hopefully Al is listening.

Tom Cable has his hands full with a team in shambles and an Overbearing owner...What will he do next?

Why are Raider fans so obsequious to their ridiculously horrible owner?

Fuck all raider haters

Nathan, first of all, thank you for taking the time to respond. I can understand your feelings about Davis, he has a lot of issues. Just something to think about, Even though he is off his rocker, he's our owner. We support our commander-in-chief. Sounds crazy but Raider fans back our leader whether he does good stuff or bad. Lately a ton of bad, I know, but we stick behind him. We may give him tongue lashings, but we will always back him till his reign is over...Call us crazy but what the heck..He's "our" Al.

You don't follow the Raiders, much, do you Farris?
If you did, you would know that what you just stated was about as big a load of crap as you could have posted.
Raider fans, ESPECIALLY THE LONG TIME DIEHARD fans do NOT support Al. They're sick and tired of his idiot decisions. Most and I mean MOST wish he would go the hell away. MOST know the team won't improve until Al is gone.
Go on any Raider board, ANY ONE and see how many threads that are there that are clearly anti Al.
Yes, yes, goody for you..now you're going to say 'Al did a lot for the NFL".
Yeah, he did..OVER A QUARTER OF A CENTURY AGO.
Now? He's a total joke, and has totally raped the raider organization, and especially the fans.
He cares about Al. That's it. Al. Not the team. Not the fans, and certainly not about winning. He wants to win, AS LONG AS HE'S MAKING THE CALLS.
Could care less about winning with someone else getting the credit "See Jon Gruden".

Here you are again? Don't you have something better to do? You have no clue what REAL RAIDER fans think because you ain't one! None of us (I can say us, you can't!) really dont like him anymore because of his senial decisions, but we will support him because he is the owner. You wouldn't understand that because you have NO loyalty, you do know what Loyalty means right? Like I said before, Raider Fans love you people, we love knowing that we get under your skin. Who's your team? Bronco's...LOL....

If you want to try and play with the big boys, you need to remove your head from you ass, young lady.
Oh that's right.
You're a guy who insists on using a girls name.
Regardless, as I stated go to any raider board, and you'll see that you really are dumber than cotton.
You don't go to Raider games, so you don't have a clue.
All you need to know is what color purse goes with your dress, that's it.
Saying "we will support him because he is the owner" means you're a spineless pussy, nothing more.
Who gives a ratsass if someone's the "owner"? Owners make mistakes, just like everyone. And Al has made a lifetime of mistakes just this last 5 years. See, shit for brains, he's senile. Old as the hills. Stubborn, so he's not clear on what he wants to do.
You saying you'll support anything, regardless, truly makes you a fucking idiot.
Hey, being a lemming isn't the worse thing in the world.
Wearing a dress while being a lemming, however, is.

Well im a real raider fan here. From LA to oakland i been to playoff games in the colsieum and mcaffe stadium, i been to losing seasons in both citys, but i willsay this the team will never be anything until Davis kicks the bucket plain and simple, saw him come out of his car before the raider vs charger game this year the guy looks bad, his eye was leaking fluid either bodily or medicine and his leg looks twice the size a normal leg. His health is bad his mind is gone with it. He relys on the old day memorys, those days are long gone. The downfall started with Gruden and hasnt stopped since, his ego is crazy and until he dies we will be a bottom dweller. I am a raider fan for life but i am not blind to poor choices made by the owner over the years. Not to mention the latest bad move signing D Hall to a huge contract only to cut him, the money should have went to Namdi Asoumgha in the first place

Great point Al is def an issue
Losing Namdi is the next kick to the gut with our hands tied . He is the key player on our defense , he should have been signed by now . If he is gone( only imagine what he thinks bout this team). then we just lost our topflight corner that we developed . I having been with this team since 1980 and i cannot take Davis's BS anymore, he doesnt give a rats ass about the fans or the development of a young team. He is all about conflict within his own mind. How long must i suffer, How can you support that shit?
from about 1 month ago
I agree, we lose Asomugha, we lose a lot!

See Paris? Oh, I mean Farris?
Look at the above two. An owner is just an owner. You don't have to be a worm, a lemming, a pathetic little wannabee groupie who says 'I don't have an opinion on my own. I rely on Old Man Al to make it for me."
14 at the oldest, is my guess.

I've been a loyal fan for about 30 years and have gone along with a lot of stuff that Al has done. But at some point you have to say enough is enough. Following a leader blindly is always a dangerous thing to do. It's important to stand up for what you believe is the right thing to do. For now the right thing for Al to do is give up control.

Now thats a great point and I agree Akenta, I agree.

Cable just cost the Raiders the game.
An easy FG that would have been worth 3.
Instead calls for a fake FG, expecting that side of beef, Jano, to run FOR TEN YARDS??? With someone standing RIGHT THERE?
Instead KC runs it back for 7, which was the margin of the win?
Cable just sewed up the fact that thinking on his feet was never one of his strengths.
Good by Raiders. You are officially garbage.

yes he did. How many times will they beat themselves?

you are so right! They officially stink, but they stunk before this game to. One good win against the Broncos and then back to ZERO status for the Raiders.

Davis has accomplished much both for the Raiders and the league in general - the merger between the AFL and NFL was orchestrated almost exclusively by Davis.
The problem is that - back in the late 70's/early 80's - one very knowledgeable owner could run a team. But in the 21st century - one man can't run a scouting department by himself let alone an entire frahcnise. Al's ego often gets in the way and clouds his judgement - he won with Gruden, but when Gruden became the face of the franchise, problems started. Al didn't give him enough credit, and basically insulted him with the monetary figure for Gruden's supposed "contract extension". Today - one of the many problems is that Russell is not the guy. His success in college was mostly a result of his athletic ability - and in the NFL, players are faster and stronger. Russell has not adapted well to the pro game, and unfortunately - I dont think he will. Secondly, the draft strategy is piss-poor. This team has major issues in the trenches on both sides of the football, and nothing has been done to address that. Opposing teams run roughshod between the tackles. There are no game-breaking receivers that can take a 7-yard slant and turn it into a big play. This team needs a GM to assess talent, and - despite Al's opinion, a disciplinarian under the headset to cure this team of all of the mental errors. How many times have you heard Raider-defenders talk about "playing more disciplined", "staying in our gaps" and "tackling better after a loss? I've been a die-never fan for 32 years - this may be the worst team we have fielded since I've been alive

Thanks to everyone with the quality comments...I never said I liked Al nor agreed with him, I made a steatement that he's still "OUR" Al. Didn't mean to touch sensattive parts of people. Why the personal attacks? It seems some of you are more spineless than Al himself. Make good conversation, dis agree...fine, but attacking someone show's your mentality and wow there are some very young minded people out there. Again thanks to the constructive speaking. Al is def. off his rocker and his time is up...Agreed! That's why we have these colums, for good input.

Raidercard I'll except that. I wasn't attacking anyone in the tread, just ideas, but if I offended you, I apologize. The comments fired me up and I should have reacted a little different, your right. I am new in this, but want to be very involved. so I'll take your critisism to heart and think about that when commenting. thanks again for your honesty.

whatever bro, the length of time you've been here gives you the right to insult? I guess, if you say so. I did some research and you don't have a very good backround with people, just an fyi... Take care and I hope you have a great holiday.
I hope none of that was pointed at me. Agree or disagree - I like to stick to the x's and o's. I love discussing the analyzing/breaking down of the NFL with other writers, both rookies and pros. Being an NFL analyst is an art form all it's own. Farris - I've been writing about the NFL on different sites for more than a couple of years - develop a thick skin, stick to your guns, keep your sense of humor about you, dont take it too seriously...... and keep writing.

Paul NONE was pointed at you. I think you have a firm grasp on all of this and will always listen to what you have to say. Thanks for the comments
