LaDainian Tomlinson hasn't been the same this year. What happened to the LaDainian Tomlinson who scored 28 times in 2006?
2006
Tomlinson scored 28 times, breaking an NFL record for the most touchdowns in a single season. He had 1,815 rushing yards on 348 attempts. He led the league in both categories. That is a phenomenal season, the best of his career.
2007
His stats went slightly down when he scored 15 times, still leading the league though. Leading the league in rushing yards also, he rushed for 1,474 yards on 315 attempts. That is still a great season, even though it's not as good as 2006.

2008
LaDainian has definitely not been himself this season, scoring only five times. That is not very good considering that Michael Turner and LenDale White have 13 touchdowns, leading the league.
He has 770 yards on 203 carries, which isn't too bad. I say it isn't too bad because he is ranked 13th in the league.
The 2008 stats don't even compare to what he did in 2006 and 2007. He is only projected to have to2 more touchdowns.
Tomlinson hasn't been injured this year so that can't be an excuse. So what has happened? Leave me a comment a tell me what you think.
I've pretty much been saying that he's been doing horribly, but he's still the best back in the league, and still my favorite RB.

Actually he has had a big toe injury which has prevented him from effectively pushing off when he attempts to change direction. Plus the O line has either been underperforming or they're simply not as good as many thought before the season started.

Sorry, I didn't know that.

L.T has definetely screwed up my fantasy team! He is still a good back who can get yardage, he just seems out of it because of his previous performances.

Get a clue!! Who is blocking for him?!
So the fullback that has lead a tailback to a 1,000 yards rushing in almost every year of his career gets released, replaced by a ROOKIE and LT has a poor season and you think their is something wrong with him?
Take the time to learn and know your players before you spout of about a legend of the game. . .

Injury in the first half of the season, lack of a reliable fullback for all 16 games.

I have watched several games and feel bad for LT, although he was obviously not right physically earlier in the season things have not gotten much better for him. Based on what I have seen he has received completely incompetant run blocking in front of him. Letting Lorenzo Neal go for a rookie and trying to make Rivers the center of the offense has really hurt them. The line is absolutely soft, although adequate at pass blocking they are a joke at run blocking. No back, even Jim Brown or Barry Sanders, would be successful or consistent when getting initial contact 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage on the majortiy of their rushing attempts. Norv Turner has taken a tough physical team and made them soft. His offensive philosophy seems to be we'll get our but kicked in but we will look pretty doing it, doesn't Rivers look great dropping back to pass and throwing that 4 yard check down or screen that I called, his passer rating is going to be great after this game! Meanwhile they are wasting the career of a Hall of Fame, frachise back. Expecting the line to all of a sudden become dominant at run blocking is not going to happen this late in the season. Good thing for Norv he is AJ's buddy, he deserves to be under a lot more heat than he is.

Norv Turner turned one of the most explosive forces ever to play the game of football into a shell of the player LT once was. How sad. Norv Turner ruined my fantasy football team, and I hope he gets fired.
