Tonight at Hell in A Cell, Cody Rhodes came out to the ring and reintroduced to the fans in attendance and the whole WWE universe the classic look of the Intercontinental Title Belt.

He ran down a list of people who have held the title such as Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and so on. Cody than stated he would honor these men by wear the title proudly and defending it as much as he can.

Cody said he was going to defend it any time, anywhere and against anyone.

Just as that was said John Laurinaitis came out and stated that Triple H has chosen to have Cody Rhodes defend the title at that moment even though Cody was still in his street clothes.

His chosen opponent was John Morrison.

Cody Rhodes did all he could to get out the match, but was proven unsuccessful in his attempts. He tried getting counted out and leaving the match, including holding himself against the ring post for dear life. When he finally started to wrestle, he showed why he is one of the best.

John Morrison and Cody Rhodes went back and forth at each other with both of them pulling out some fancy moves. John Morrison showed no rust at all and proved why he has held many titles before.

Cody Rhodes when he got into his groove was on point and even showcased some moves of people who held the title like doing a Figure Four Leg Lock, and a headlock with stiff punches just to name a few.

In the end, Cody Rhodes got the best of John Morrison when he was able to cradle him up for the three count, and retained his title despite the impromptu match up.

Cody Rhodes claims to be one of the best Intercontinental Champions of all time. Tonight at Hell In A Cell, he showed he is more than worthy of holding the classic Intercontinental Title belt.
