Wanderlei Silva got back on track last night when he put on a classic performance against Cung Le. “The Axe Murderer” dismantled Cung Le and stopped him at the end of the 2nd round. Silva has to credit some of his success to being matched up against Cung Le, who is a fighter that is willing to stand the entire fight.

Silva has continued to put on jaw-dropping performances whether he wins or loses. Wanderlei’s chin was shown to be a bit suspect after he was knocked out by Chris Leben in less than 30 seconds, but those talks have quieted down after he stood toe to toe with the powerful Le.

Silva showed last night that he has plenty of fight left in him and fireworks are bound to erupt if he is given the right opponent. He may never be the Middleweight Champion, but at this point in his career that doesn’t seem to matter.

Wanderlei Silva won’t be hanging up the gloves any time soon and that makes all MMA fans happy. People forget that Wanderlei is only 35 years old and if he has anything to say about it, will be fighting until he is 50.

Silva has a losing record inside the octagon and has been on the verge of being forced into retirement multiple times, but always seems to make people remember why he is one of the greatest of all-time. Not many fighters are willing to stand and throw with “The Axe Murderer," but every now and then Joe Silva throws him a bone and gives him another banger.

Win, lose or draw—Silva gets the crowd on their feet.
