Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl: T.Y. Hilton's Swan Song for FIU Against Marshall

Rick GillispieCorrespondent IIDecember 8, 2011

Senior T.Y. Hilton will play his last game for Florida International in St. Petersburg against Marshall. Hilton is an NFL caliber style receiver. At 5'10" and only 183 pounds he will not be an early round pick, but he will make a good No. 3 receiver for any NFL team.

Florida International comes into their matchup with Marshall at 8-4. The Golden Panthers are a well balanced team. Their defense is one of the best in the country. Giving up only 19.4 points a game for 16th best overall.  Wesley Carroll is key to the Panthers offense. Carroll, like Hilton, is making his final start for the Golden Panthers.

Marshall need two late season wins just to get in this game. The Thundering Herd are 6-6 and lucky just to be still playing football. There is nothing special about the Herd. They do not score a lot of points and they give up way too much.

This contest should be a very boring game with FIU winning easily. The Panthers do struggle at times but look for big games from Carroll and Hilton as the say goodbye. Another star for the Panthers is sophomore Kedrick Rhodes. Rhodes is a 1,100-yard rusher playing 90 miles from his hometown.

Every sign in this game points to a Florida International win. Final score will probably not show how one-sided this matchup will be. Final Score: FIU 24 Marshall 16
