Writer bio

Ron Johnson
Height: 6'1
Weight: 175
From: St. Louis, Missouri

If there was ever a man who lived to shake up the foundation on "perfection," it is the enigma known as Ron Johnson. For the past two years, Johnson has been rocking the nation with countless submissions that challenge not only the conscience, but also the sports mind. From his censor filled "My Two Cents" to his comical "Dem Apples," Johnson is living proof that no name wannabes can even have their name etched in history.

Hi my name is Yoosof. I'm 16 years old and I live in Gillingham in Kent (UK). I'm an avid sports fan, I play and watch a lot of sport - my favourite sports are football (soccer), cricket, tennis, golf and formula 1, although football is what I mainly write about. I'm writing on bleacher report because I want to get experience writing sport articles because I want to be a sports journalist in the future.

I'm very simple: I love to write, and I love hockey more than anything in the world. My world and my life revolves around hockey. My work revolves around what time the game is on TV. Hockey is a priority. That's it. Hockey is a priority.

I am currently attending Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. I will be majoring in psychology and minoring in business. This is to answer all questions about whether or not I want to go into journalism. No I don't, but my first year seminar was a journalism class, and I plan on taking other classes like this.

My dream is to go into hockey management, and one can easily see why through all of my hockey articles.

I like to think of myself as a hockey fan before a Flyers' fan. Yes, it would be my dream to see the Flyers' win the Stanley ...

Writer bio

I`m just bringing a Brazilian perspective to BR.

BR is the greatest because even though English isn`t my first language and my writing is horribly amateur, there are always very competent people around to edit my contributions and make them look like real articles.

I think it`s great that fans from all over the world can write what they think about sporting events, give opinions and share local knowledge.

Like I said in the beginning I am Brazilian so I guess it goes without saying that I worship football/soccer as do my 190 million countrymen. I`m into just about every league, tourney and brand in the world.

This has left him cursed to have a friend pool of half Browns fans and half Steelers fans.

He currently lives in exile in the Nation's Capital waiting for that fateful day when "You Know Who" dies and he can sneak up to Baltimore and tinkle on his grave. Why? Because "You Know Who" deserves it.

Writer bio

I'm a young college student living in metro-Atlanta. My day job currently is in retail but I long for a career in sports journalism. My favorite sport is baseball but I watch basketball and football as well. I collect baseball cards as a side hobby because of my passion for the game.

I live for sports, it is what gets me through the rough times as I'm sure it does for many others. I hope to become a premier writer sometime in the future as I've embarked on this journey in my college career.

My favorite sports team is the Cardinals ever since I saw the great home run chase of '98 with Sosa and Big Mac. I've been privy to highs and lows with my team including a World Series championship in '06, but I've been through the disastrous '04 World Series sweep. I bleed Cardinal red.

I love the Pittsburgh Penguins, nothing more needs to be said. I've been a die hard fan since I was old enough to understand sports in general. I went to my first game when I was 5 years old, and have been hooked ever since.

Like a typical Pittsburgh sports fan, I hate all things Philadelphia, most especially the Flyers. I'm usually not the typical run-of-the-mill writer when it comes to sports, so if I say something to offend you or your team, please don't take it personally. Unless of course that team is based out of Philadelphia, then by all means, do take it personally, because it is.

I used to watch football all day long, every Sunday, until about two or three years ago when it suddenly became just plain boring to me. I realized that the time I was spending watching players ...

Your basic guy who loves college sports.

Did the faceless, corporate management thing for too long.

Business owner long enough to see good times and rough times.

Through it all college sports have and continue to be my passion. My days of being a Pac-10 fan actually date back to the Pac-8. Those were the days when Jim Plunkett was throwing bombs to Randy Vataha and Ahmad Rashad was a running back at Oregon by the name of Bobby Moore.

My favorite college game to take in? Either the one I have tickets to or just about any game on television.

Born and raised in Oakland. I am a self-proclaimed baseball purist. I am a die-hard San Francisco Giants fan and basically half my wardrobe is orange and black. I listen to Giants games on the radio because that's how my dad taught me to do things and listening to Jon Miller and David B. Flemming talk about Shakespeare during any point of a game is priceless. I am a baseball prospect junkie and that means I read Baseball America usually more than I read my own textbooks.

I'm not your normal sports fan. I don't panic after every game. I don't use "we" when speaking of a team I root for. I'm not a homer. If the team isn't good, I'm not afraid to say it.

I served as a editing intern with the B/R crew this past summer and now I have the pleasure of serving as the community...

42 - Alex Dimond

Writer bio

Alex is a recent history graduate, who has just started a postgraduate journalism course. When he isn't in lectures (sitting at the back, of course) he can often be found on B/R - in his role as Staff Editor of the World Football section.

With an unflinching belief that he is always right, a convenient disregard for facts that might not support his view and an ability to write thousands of words on the most trivial of stories, Alex naturally believes he has all the skills required to become a great journalist. With past experience including a blog that reached literally tens of people worldwide and an article his mum read, he also believes he has the popularity to succeed.

Alex knows a lot about sport - last year alone he predicted Tiger Woods would win a major, and an English tea...

I am a broadcast journalism student at Syracuse University with a deep passion for college basketball and baseball. I ran my own website CuseAdelphia.com but it's dead now. As much as I enjoyed writing about Philadelphia and Syracuse sports, I wanted to expand on what I was writing about.

I currently write for B/R, Fox Sports, and StormingTheFloor.net which is one of the premier college basketball blogs in the country.

I will also appear in ESPN the Magazine:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?section=magazine&id=3642674

Thanks for reading. If you want to reach me, email me at jsflemin@syr.edu

I will creature vs. creature literally any college basketball game in the country.

I also want to do a roundtable with cbb writers. E-mail me if you want the questions...

44 - Raider Card Addict

Writer bio

The result of an older brother following the Raiders and a Father who follows the Broncos, Joseph Budd was tuned to the Raiders at a young age, starting with Ken Stabler's game against the Vikings in the 1976 season. Going through school, he was the subject of ridicule and resentment, especially after cheering for the Raiders through two more Super Bowl wins, and watched in horror when Bo Jackson's career was derailed.

Never giving up on his team, Joe went on to college, and took his hobby into business, opening a card shop, trading, and doing business both before and after the internet took off, selling cards and collectables.

After discovering that there was no physical way to collect every single card when your name is not Donald Trump, Joe decided to pursue the Raider cards. A...

I am a Journalism Major at Hunter College in NYC. I have been published in a few college papers and have received awards from the New Jersey College Press. I also interned for Bleacher Report as an editor. I was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to New Jersey at the age of 6. At some point in high school I realized that I would never become a professional athlete and realized the only legal way to make money while involving sports was to become a journalist.

I am a fan of all four major US sports as well as soccer. I also have access to Jets season tickets courtesy of my lovely girlfriend which will be used to try the waters of beat writing. I recently became one of the community leaders for the New York Jets and will look to help build the page to it's highest potential.

New Jersey born and raised, and while I still follow some New York area teams, the Mets and Yankees are not among them. Been a Braves fan all my life, but adopted the Blue Jays as the 2nd favorite along the way. Jason Kidd made the Nets a team to watch again, and while there's a handful of teams I like in the NFL, there was something sweet about seeing Golden Boy Brady getting slammed to the turf by the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. I'll go to a Lobo basketball game or football game for an entertaining break from dissertation research, but as a graduate student, I can't say I care a whole lot about UNM.

I'm working on my PhD in Earth and Planetary Sciences doing climate modeling and remote sensing analysis. I got my BS in Physics at Rochester Institute of Technology where the only spor...
