NFC South Top Writers

1 - Matt Gilmartin

Writer bio

I'm the Carolina Panthers and NFC South Community Leader. So if you have questions, want an opinion, need help with editing an article about the Panthers, don't hesitate to post a note on my bulletin board or shoot me an email at abfan@carolina.rr.com.

I'm a high school sophomore this year. My favorite teams at the moment (these change with the sports that are going on) are the Carolina Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes.

I'm currently writing on my school's newspaper staff.

I will begin writing on a website that's devoted to fantasy football called Ruleroto.com soon in addition to Bleacher Report...or so I thought. The founder of the site asked me to contribute. I replied back telling him I was up for it. Haven't heard back from him.

I'm having a lot of fun comp...

3 - Sean Crowe

Writer bio

Sean Crowe got his start writing for the now defunct dailysportsreport.com (although we’ve recently been informed that DSR is back…but we assure you, Crowe has absolutely nothing to do with the new site).

His influences include ESPN's Bill Simmons (from his Digital City Boston days) and the Boston Globe's Dan Shaughnessy before he went catatonic and was replaced by a random negative article regurgitating robot. He hates everyone who writes for the Boston Herald except for Steve Bulpett & Rob Bradford. Mike Reiss is his favorite sports writer at the moment, but he’s looking into becoming the president of the Amalie Benjamin fan club—for whatever that’s worth.

Crowe is married with 2 beautiful daughters. His wife is obviously a saint for putting up with him for over five yea...

Writer bio

I am a 22 year old senior at the University of Dayton. After I was born in Connecticut, I moved to the Philadelphia area where I has developed a passion for all of the city's sports team. Do you have any idea how proud I am to say that the city's 25 year old curse is finally over and the Philadelphia Phillies are World Champions once again? Tears of joy came to my eyes when Brad Lidge threw that final strike in the bottom of the 9th in Game 5 and fell to his knees with his arms in the air....

In my spare time, I am a student manager at the recreational facility on campus. I am also the Public Affairs and News Director at the University's radio station, WUDR 99.5. My buddy and I co-host a talk show every Monday afternoon from 4-6. I'm also a sports broadcaster for the varsity soccer ...

The details about my life are fairly simple. I live in Brooklyn, NY, support the New York Jets, and love professional football down to the very core of my soul.

I believe opinions make the world go 'round, and refuse to falter on that stance. You can hold facts to your chest as closely as you please. I prefer to see them analyzed and disputed from a different, well-argued perspective.

Serious journalism is always welcome, but I'll be damned if we don't all love a good laugh. It's why I write serious pieces, and make plenty of joke ones.

Aside from spending an extraordinary amount of time analyzing sports I was never good enough to play on a professional level, I write various forms of fiction, my opinions on things unrelated to sports across the web, and school papers for ve...

I live in New Jersey. I moved here from North Carolina six years ago, so I am far removed from my beloved Carolina Panthers.

After moving here I wanted to become a fan of a local NFL team, while keeping my roots in the Carolina Panthers. I chose the Philadelphia Eagles, and I have really come to love this team, it's fanbase, and the City of Philadelphia—from Greek translates into, philos, "love" and adelphos, "brotherly;" AKA, "City of Brotherly Love"—as these fans are bluecollar like myself, who love their teams, and are always faithful. Besides, what other fanbase can claim they've boo'ed Santa Claus—and for good reason upon further investigation—and had a courthouse in the bowels of the old Vet?

My two NFL teams are the Panthers and the Eagles. I ...

Originally from Georgia, I am now living in North Carolina. My favorite sports teams are the Georgia Bulldogs, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Braves. Tiger Woods is my favorite athlete.

I love sports and especially enjoy watching NFL and NCAA fooball, and college basketball on TV. However, I keep sports in perspective as I don't take sports or games too seriously. I am a loyal fan and when my team loses, I may become sad but I don't get angry or bent out of shape about a loss. Sports is entertainment and an escape from reality. Sports, to me, are about fun, sportsmanship, effort, and class.

The NFL is easily the best of all professional sports/leagues. It is our national pastime and favorite sport. The league is very well promoted and presented. The game is played at its highes...

Writer bio

My name is Ryan Michael. I'm an aspiring Sports writer with a primary focus on the NFL and WWE. I've done some sports broadcasting on the radio for our local high school games. I'm new to Bleacher Report and hope to earn myself a spot as one of the top writers in my topics of specialty.

I'm 20 years old and am engaged to the most amazing girl in the world, Megan. I'm a college student at the University of Connecticut, surprisingly having little interest in colege basketball. I am a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan and a hardcore follower of the WWE.

My goal is to become one of the top writers here on Bleacher Report. I will continue to work hard to improve my writing skills and hopefully write a ton of articles that you'll all enjoy reading.

Right now I'm proud to say that I'm ...

Writer bio

Michael Whooley lives in the happiest place on Earth. No,not Disneyland; rather that beautiful city known as San Bruno in the wondrous state of California. A graduate of Providence College in Rhode Island, Michael has also done his time on the East Coast and has come to the conclusion that the West Coast truly is the Best Coast. Seriously, who needs snow? Michael emerged from his mother's womb decked in the red and gold of his beloved San Francisco 49ers. Growing up in the Bay Area in the late 80s and early 90s, Michael was spoiled and got to enjoy some of the best football any team has ever played (not just opinion, but a fact as solid as the fact that the male seahorse has the babies - look it up!) Trips to Candlestick Park to see the 49ers with his grandma were frequent occurrences. ...

"Whatever I talk about, it always comes back to baseball."--Connie Mack
I live in NY and work as a copywriter for an ad agency.
I spend too much time thinking of fantasy team names, too little time reading injury reports.
I don't understand people who keep score at baseball games.
I'm officially tired of the "Yankees buy their team" argument.
"I like people more than principles."-Oscar Wilde
I just cannot get into tennis, golf, or anything that is limited to running around a track.
I don't mind the NFL overtime rules, I think hockey is wildly underrated, and I hate the expression "step up to the plate."
I don't believe in wearing baseball hats with football logos on them because football players wear helmets.

I'm 24, live in North Dallas, and I am a huge homer for all the teams I follow. I told you now, so you can't hold it against me in the future.

I went to Baylor University where I graduated with a double major in Marketing and Management. While I have always considered myself a good writer, I am not a writer by trade. Therefore, when and if I write articles and analysis on this site, there is almost certain to be grammatical errors. I don't care so don't bring them up to me. If it reads well and makes sense, then it is grammatically correct to me. (This is, of course, partially tongue-in-cheek. Nobody likes the "grammar police", but I welcome constructive criticism and article editing)

I have to admit, I do wish that I had studied some sort of sports journalism in school....

18 - Jeff Dickinson

Writer bio

I started pursuing writing dream 18 years ago covering high school and small college sports for a daily newspaper in Alabama. I moved to Atlanta in 1997 to work in corporate communications for seven years. That sports itch was always there, so I started freelancing to scratch it. After being downsized for the second time in three years in April, I decided to start my own freelance writing and editing business. Now I work at home full time(I can be difficult to deal with, but I'm not going to downsize myself!). I write for four sports sites, a flooring site and just about everything else under the sun. The bottom line is that I love to write and am lucky to be able to support my wife and two sons doing it.

I'm Henry, and I love football and baseball. Originally from Boston, I have spent time in both New York (which I think is the greatest city in the world) and Denver (which is a close second) and picked up my love of sports from these two cities. I love the Denver Broncos, and I love the New York Mets (even though they never cease to break my heart). I also love writing (english was always my best subject in school), and I found out about Bleacher Report from fellow Broncos writer Sayre Bedinger, and from their advertisement on Facebook, where I serve as an administrator to a Denver Broncos fan group consisting of over 12,000 members. I am no bandwagoner or fair-weather fan... you won't see me change my loyalties when times get tough...ever.

Writer bio

The result of an older brother following the Raiders and a Father who follows the Broncos, Joseph Budd was tuned to the Raiders at a young age, starting with Ken Stabler's game against the Vikings in the 1976 season. Going through school, he was the subject of ridicule and resentment, especially after cheering for the Raiders through two more Super Bowl wins, and watched in horror when Bo Jackson's career was derailed.

Never giving up on his team, Joe went on to college, and took his hobby into business, opening a card shop, trading, and doing business both before and after the internet took off, selling cards and collectables.

After discovering that there was no physical way to collect every single card when your name is not Donald Trump, Joe decided to pursue the Raider cards. A...

Since retiring from the military himself in October 2008, he has jumped into the education field, where he is substitute teaching while finishing his degree inn Social Sciences

Bryan enjoys watching his Steelers play hard-nosed football, and has grown weary of reading the "professional" reporters articles which in his mind, consistently fail to give the Steelers their due (Pete Prisco comes to mind). Hey, internet! Quick facts: I'm currently living in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It's about an hour north of Milwaukee, where I'm planning on moving to after I find a real job to go along with my internship for the Milwaukee Wave indoor soccer team.

I'm a graduate from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse class of '06, and then spent two years there as a television news reporter. It was fun, but ultimately wasn't for me. So in the meantime, I'm working on my blog, www.thebuckychannel.com, and planning my next move.

Also, I would like to use this space to thank my friend Brett Berenz, who helps me write The Bucky Channel, and is responsible for many of the Bucks articles that will be posted here.

Thanks for reading!

I'm Alex, I'm from London, and I have a job as a journalist. About insurance. If there's anything that can drive the person truly mad, it's years of writing about insurance. Trust me. I know.
But my biggest love is sports. In the UK I love my soccer teams, but I have my big American passions: baseball and football. Sure, I can deal with the odd NBA game and March Madness, as well as a bit of the NFL, but give me Ken Griffey's swing and a Penn State White Out any day of the week.
So here I am. I have a blog - http://viewfromnorthamerica.blogspot.com that I hope you'll look at at some point. And I love writing.
