But most of the current mess has come about through Bettman's strategy of selecting American markets that have no relation to hockey. Seattle, Portland, Milwaukee, and Hartford with a new arena would all be better choices than some of the money-losing teams he has chosen. I'm also tired of the NHL's shameful treatment of Hamilton. Bettman argued that Quebec and Winnipeg should lose their franchises because they didn't build adequate arenas but Hamilton built a proper NHL size arena and has been denied entry. This court case is totally unnecessary.
By the way, on the tombstone of Byng, it states that he fell a martyr to political persecution.
