Congrats on the "promotion" for lack of a better term. Should really help out in the attempt to reach the major dream.

Will do my best Gary—they ultimately make the final decision of what to publish and what not too, but I'll definitely bring their attention to your piece.
Thanks as always for the submission.

Good for you man! Parrish comes off as a good person in his articles, blog, and mailbag, and that's a great thing for a person to do. I'm so jealous that you have a renowned professional contact to add to your resume when you job hunt and graduate!
You write well already, but Parrish is a great model to patent your writing skills after. Best of luck man, hopefully you find the pay site you're after.

I actually have no idea how my articles got on there. I google searched my name once and I found it out, but no I don't get paid.
I like how you list Gary Parrish as your favorite writer. He's easily the best writer Sportsline has, and is a very knowledgeable college basketball guy who can be self-deprecating yet arrogant all in the same article.

No, I'm not paid, are you launching a sports and are willing to pay? Or do you know of any sites that will?

Gary-
If you were serious in your question......
It started out by blogging. I wrote a blog about a woman who was dying of cancer and how she wanted to meet her favorite NASCAR driver Tony Stewart. FOXSports.com ended up flying us out to Talladega in April 2007 and paying for the whole shindig, including hanging out with Tony. They chronicled it on their website. After that, it just snowballed. A lot of work. But blogging was how it got started. A few of their bloggers have gotten FOXSports.com contracts, as well as one with SI.com.
If you were dissing me with your question......:p

Hey Gary,
Just wanted to give you a heads up about something I am trying to start in the Bama community. Every Monday, I am going to post a little blurb about a topic that I think would be interesting to get feedback from everyone in the Bama community on, either through a comment post or an article. Anyways, here is a link to it below and just be on the lookout for this every Monday.
Thanks,
Nic
