Hey, Ryan. This morning I gave my best shot at my first time editing. The problem is that I'm not sure I did a very good job. I had to do a lot of changing grammar and punctuation, and I don't know if I made it better or worse. How do you edit someone's article without changing their style? I want to become a better editor so I can be more of an all-around contributor to B/R.

RA,

I simply loved that piece, the self empowerment bit. Truly it exemplifies the 15-minutes in the limelight and then they forget whether they are dead or alive syndrome. That is one of the best editorials that I have read in a long time. A call for conscience.

Mom is getting well, bit-by-bit, she is also under lot of strain. In India, old is not gold most of the times, there is a lot of strain on her and she is not out of the shock of it yet. She was always the invincible one taking care of my sis and myself when dad left home, so it is tough on her to realize that she might have gone. It is her second life she knows and she has taken it too hard.

Thank you so much for caring, it means a lot to me when you inquire about her health. It gives me a feeling of not being an anonymous unknown but of being a part of a family.

You take care and always be this wonderful human being that you are, that is what makes you such a special person.

This is what you need to do, as this is the code for the YouTube video, some of the videos do not allow to be embedded, which is not the case here as you can see now:

You need to put this code that I got from YouTube where ever you want it in your HTML:

This is the same code that I put in and so we have the video displaying therein, now - go check.

Some YouTube videos do not offer that code as they are not Authorised by the maker of that video, so when you link you have to look for a PUBLIC VIDEO that has this code to embed in your HTML.

HaHa! Now that you mention it, I've got some angst. Such as...People ALWAYS ruin a good thing. Not too many exceptions. Can't let those fools sweat you, Ryan. Then we run the risk of denying the real just to go against the grain. Don't generally like to associate myself with the mainstream either, but every now and again I find myself in the same camp...though maybe for different reasons. It's fine right now, but I want to insert a table from microsoft word underneath the list of linebackers, with statistics, similar to what I did underneath the defensive lineman.

Everytime I insert the table, it becomes a very big mess. I tried several different ways when inserting the article, but to no avail. Can you help me out? I could e-mail you the table and see what you can do with it, or if you have any other solutions, let me know please!

Again, thanks for the information, Ryan. You and your team's hard work is always appreciated.

You are pretty much spot on with the tags issues, and I agree and understand your explainations. Much as it may be frustrating on occassion, I fully realise why it is best to limit the tag use, especially in leagues. Like I said, I've learned to trust B/R's abilities, so I'm sure you'll have it sorted. Perhaps if there was a more heavily weighted tag for articles that fall outside the league-type reporting. I think what made me notice was that, while on the Top Writers list for NHL, my newest article was not the one listed under my name. Maybe it's the fact that I'm trying not to melt in this heavy heat we're having, staring at things I'd normally miss. It's funny the things that a person notices sometimes!

Anyway, thanks again. Incidentally, which tag would you suggest for that piece: NHL or Multiple Sports? I'm not as familiar as you as to where specific tags would actually route it, and I think you have a pretty good understanding of what I was hoping to accomplish.

Thanks so much for the comment and the mend. Much appreciated. I've learned not to panic with the occassional hiccups... you guys are on the ball and do great work. Things are always dealt with, and like I said, it's appreciated.

Now this is just me wanting my article to get noticed, but I've been wondering about the tags. I really dig the new format insofar as it prevents that 30-tag string which was becoming too common. But because of the sections, sometimes I am forced to perhaps inaccurately tage the article, and am left with useless options which I can either use just to get more pages but not accurately mark, or ignore and not get as much profile. For instance, We are allowed a certain number of tags per group. Especially in Players, very often the wrong people show up automatically, and when you type names in they appear under other, which means you may lose spaces there and leave the "Players" area empty. Conversely, it would be helpful for other sports and legues to show up in "other", so that if the necessary and understandable limits of the tag sections prevent a writer from properly cover his or her article, then he or she may use the "other" section as the optional ones. Am I making sense?

Basically, as an NHL writer and with my main response to that question being hockey-related, I'd like the NHL group to have it. But if I tag it NHL, it doesn't show up elsewhere. The point was to expose the question and hockey/sports info to other areas and sports, so as to get a broader perspective. But if I tag it as Multiple Sports, it won't appear on the NHL page, where people would like the info. Any thoughts? Sorry to bug you again, feel free to ignore me!

Anyway, thanks as always. I appreciate your having taken the time to read the article. I know they are long, but without the double, it now looks normal!
