I grew up in metro-Detroit but I'm currently displaced in Michigan's UP (Marquette) for school (Northern Michigan University)

I'm majoring in Entertainment and Sports Promotion (ESPR) with a minor in Marketing at Northern Michigan University and I'm currently in my junior year. I hope to do sports marketing for a professional sports franchise or Division I-A university after I graduate.

I grew up with the Michigan Wolverines. My Dad went there and every Saturday in the fall I'd be watching the football team. I remain a big Wolverines fan, as well as a big fan of all the pro-Detroit sports teams. Since coming to NMU I've gotten interested in college hockey, aside from the NHL. NMU has a good hockey team and I try to make it to as many games as possible.

Okay guys, i'm running the roundtable this week.

Question is.....

What is the biggest needs for the Lions in the offseason and what two players would you like to see them select in the first round and why?

Make sure to your players/picks based on realistic draft projection, you can go to www.nfldraftcountdown.com to get an idea where guys are likely to fall.

As it sits now, we should have the #1 pick and somewhere between #16-#21 for the pick from Dallas.

I think Ryan Leaf is looking for a job. Maybe he could back up Culpepper. I had to pick The friggin JAGS this week after that move. Ok guys here is what I am going to call our segment

"Black and Blue Wrap Up" followed by the season and week here is an example:

Black and Blue Wrap Up: 2008 Week 9

This way people who are pressed for time can view all the news from the NFC North in one article

We will start the article with a question about the divison, each week we will alternate who chooses the topic question. I will start this week. After the games sunday I will email the question to you, then if you would submit a brief answer along with the wrap up of your team to me by Wednesday morning we can get it out. I figure that I will do this weeks question then, Zach, Andy, Keith and so on. I did change the submission deadline because that way we can get more reads. Take a look at this article from the Packers Roundtable which our very own Zach Kruse is a part of.

I would participate, but I really don't care too much about the Red Wings. I never wrote anything about them, I just categorize all my power rankings there (as well as a lot of other places) because they are always No. 1. Actually, I'm a Hurricanes fan, and frankly, I can't even tell you who Detroit plays next. You did beat us 3-1 earlier this year though...

Ok everyone we got the NFC North rountable so to speak. The idea is to have each of us write an article about our teams. We will then put them together in one article to try and get as many views as we can. I suggest that you take what you write and publish it for your team so you get credit for an article. Then Email me what you write and I will take the most important information and put it all together in one. Let me know in the email what specificly you want in there. Everyone will have credit for your contribution. Here is our team.

What we are looking for is how each team is looking, how they played that week, who are the key players, the key plays, what to expect, your personal opinion, and any important news. Use stats, history, numbers, records, standings, names, and any other good stuff.

I think the best way for this to work is to have all writing in to me by Wednesday night and I will publish the article by Thursday morning. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Wanted to know if you are interested in doing like an NFC North Wrap up every week. I was thinking of trying to get a writer from each team to write a little peice about their teams performance and what to look for from their point of view and then put it together and to publish as one. Like your doing with the best Lions player.

Also I am a Bears fan, but NFC North as well, so anything you want help on in the future let me know.

I've pretty much dropped off the face of the earth in the Sports writing department. I'm trying to finish up my dissertation and am publishing my first scientific articles at the moment, and feel guilty anytime I'm not working on this project. If you want to lead the round table and come up with a topic, I'll be happy to contribute, but I think It's about time I relinquish the Lions "community leader" title, as I won't have the time to really even browse the site. Hey man,

I'm sorry about the Lions roundtable article. I feel awful about it. I didn't have a chance to get around to it that day and then just completely forgot with all the other big news going on (in addition to law school). If you guys already wrote your articles, I'll scrounge something together and then get it to you ASAP so you can post it. Otherwise, we can just wait until after the game Sunday and you can lead one during the middle of next week, before it comes around to me leading one the week after you. Sorry again bud.

Soooooo,
In all likelyhood, the Detroit Lions are looking at a top five draft pick and a new coach in the upcoming season. In celebration of management change, lets tell the new GM (whoever he may be) exactly what the Detroit Lions need. So here's the deal. Let's discuss what the Lions need most with a specific top pick in the draft, and maybe one savy free agent move. I'll write the intro and conclusion and will then be one of the round table members.

Next week, you can come up with the topic and then do the same. The week after Brian will take the lead. I'm still looking for a forth, so if you have any good suggestions let me know.

How does that sound? Can you get me your analysis by Saturday night? Let me know,

Hey Keith,
I've enjoyed your Lions coverage! The BR guys contacted me to lead up the Lions community, and I told them I'd give it a shot. As such, I thought we might start a roundtable article every week with a number of the Lions writers weighing in on a particular question. One of us can come up with a topic, and the rest of us will contribute a paragraph spouting our opinion. Interested? I know we'll probably be losing readers throughout the season if the team continues to be miserable, but maybe we can keep them interested. There's only so much we can write about how much they suck.
