Hello! Thanks for stopping by. You will find that my writing consists of commentary on the politics of sports more than play-by-play and game summary type articles. I like to reflect on the decision making aspect of the fusion between sports and culture.
I grew up a sports fan in the rolling hills of Upstate NY not far from the US/Canadian border. Watching Hockey Night in Canada on CBC was part of every winter's night and yes, even curling.
Baseball was my passion as well, growing up a die-hard Yankees fan which I still am today. My favorite Yankee is and always will be Thurman Munson - the captain's captain.
In 1989 I moved to Chicago and instantly fell in love with the Chicago Blackhawks. I have great memories of games at the old Chicago Stadium watching Chris Chelios, JR and Bob Probert. I never really had a favorite hockey team until then. As my friends in Chicago still say, you can take the girl out of Chicago but not the Chicago out of the girl.
In 1999 I moved back to NY to be closer to my family yet the Blackhawks still came home with me. The past few years have been an amazing ride for my beloved Blackhawks and I am excited to see what the future holds for the team that holds my heart.
Thanks to some relatives who are huge Buffalo Sabres fans; they have become my second favorite NHL team. Yeah, I know! LOL
One of many fans I am sure. .. Daniel
Great article, loved it, and I tried to make a request to write but keep getting an error on my submission for "6. Which teams are you most interested in? Which sports?" do you know how to get past that point.
