Erick's Bio

Erick is a 20 year old college student attending Brooklyn College on a full scholarship. He is majoring in TV/Radio and minoring in English with the hopes of someday becomming a professional basketball analyst.

He is a lifelong NBA fan who loves not only the awe-inspiring talents of NBA players, but also the strategic chess matches between a team trying to maximize its strengths, while attacking its opponent's weaknesses.

He freelances a little bit for the amNewYork newspaper based in New York City, and reposts his bleacherreport articles on OTRBasketball.com.

Erick is a huge Florida Gators fan who is basking in the success of the school's recent football and basketball championships.

Aside from the Gators, Erick is an avid fan of the SEC, the Utah Jazz, the New York Knicks, The Carolina Panthers, the New York Giants, the New York Mets, and the Colorado Rockies.

Erick is an encyclopedia of Simpsons quotes, loves Leslie Nielson movies, and lists T.S. Eliot and Douglas Adams as his favorite writers. He also lives on the block where the first tornado in over 100 years touched down in Brooklyn, New York. Obviously, God isn't a huge fan of Erick's, and sent a message accordingly.

    http://www.nba.com/coachfile/randy_wittman/

I read your 2005 Draft article...keep up the good stuff.

  3. Yeah, every now and then we shoot emails to each other. I'm mainly in contact now with Gerrit Ritt, a fantasy sports editor/writer at FOXSports.com.

  4. Yeah, when I really started getting serious about sports writing, he was the guy I read and read and read. I contacted him and actually spent about an hour talking on the phone with him about sports journalism in December 2006. He's by far my favorite writer, and I hope to keep him as a contact when I look for jobs, internships, etc.

  5. Hey Erick, I noticed you were on with hoops4life.com. Do they pay you?

  6. Hey Erick, check my article out.

    Take care!

  7. thanks for the dap bro. How's Brooklyn; I haven't been home in a long time.

  8. Hey

just writing to tell you that I am no longer writing for Bleacher Report. I have embarked on several new ventures of my own and they are in direct conflict content-wise with BR.

Two of my blogs (mrflushing.com and blognyg.com) have been incorporated into the Yardbarker network and and a third one - ny giant nation - is being run by sportsblognet.com

I also bought into a sports video site that is in its infancy - smackcaster.com - which we are still developing....

  9. Thanks for the add Erick, I really appreciate it especially coming from someone who has written so many articles and is so respected on bleacher report.

  11. 100 NBA articles Erick—congrats my man, that's a huge milestone. Your 1000th comment is also rapidly approaching...

Can't thank you enough for sticking with b/r for so long and being a true pioneer for our pro hoops Community. When we make a Bleacher Report HOF, you'll get my first ballot vote.

  12. If you have a moment please check out www.bleedeaglesgreen.com

    thanks!!

  13. Thanks, Erick.

  14. I'll revisit your articles if I have to prove a point. I was going to use ESPN's analysis, but I had to wait for the series to end. I am not going against Andrew, or you, or other analysis. It was just plain obvious who the better team was, and I made probably the best article to open up those points for discussion.

    Read them. They're good.

  15. AOL is perfect. I'm at drewunga on AOL. Let me know if you can do it or not.
