Meri-Jo Borzilleri has covered just about every sport there is for newspapers, but has an affinity for the Olympic Games because she grew up in Lake Placid, N.Y. In 1980, she and her sister sold bagels to the athletes' Olympic Village cafeteria, work which required a vendors' pass that allowed entry to many events, with the exception of hockey. To this day, she regrets losing an odds-evens shootout with her younger sister for a ticket to the 1980 U.S. vs. USSR game.
