Either way definitely works. I would just do it whenever you feel most comfortable with it.

Hey, Shaun. If you had written about Gavin before and wanted to avoid padding, that is no problem at all. I just commented that it was short because B/R requires that articles be at least 200 words long, and your article was 240, so I just wanted to point out that it was close (though not breaking any rules). As far as citing your own work, you are allowed to do so as long as it's not done excessively (three times or less in one article is usually fine).

Thanks for writing me, and always feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Your article was well-written, and I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. Keep up the good work!

Shaun: Thanks for your elaborate and well thought-out comments on my Arsenal pieces recently, and for semi-hosting some great discussions in the comment threads. Cheers mate, and hope you get a chance to check out more of my work.

    Shaun -

I just wanted to thank you for being such a consistent contributor to the ongoing debate stemming from articles on the LFC page. It makes my job a whole lot more interesting to have readers that are actively engaged.

    Thanks for reading!
