Thomas's Bio

Theres only three things you need to know. Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots. I love them, but I also love a good game and every professional sport other then NASCAR, because its unneeded and is a waste of gas.
I am 13 years old, aspire to be a sports writer and hope to do well on bleacherreport or at least learn something about writing. I hope to become a Senior Writer and dream to have a Pick of the Day, but that may take a while...
I really want to excel my college football knowledge.

The Celtics bandwagon is overly said. Boston has been giving those guys full houses during the bad years. My favorite part about sports is that one year a team is awful, or have been awful for years. Then one year, they blast out. I have seen this in the '06 Tigers, '08 Rays, '01 Patriots and '08 Celtics. Free feel to tell me more.

I officially decided my writing will go with the season, so right now I am mostly NFL.
My picks so far this season in the NFL: 11-7

  1. check out latest basketball article try to find that book if you can its a great read. i was probably around your age when i read it! i love a good sports book! thomas

  2. I needed some time away from football writing. I was neglecting every other part of my life, and needed to play some catch up. Also I was so close to the situation I wasn't seeing the big picture very well.

Writing had become a chore rather than a hobby.

So I took a week off.

  6. Hey Thomas -

Yes, I called Hingham home for quite a while, though it's been 18 years since I moved away! I still love that town, though. (Cambridge too -- I grab any excuse to go back and visit.)

  7. I would pick the one topic you care the most about and do 80% of your writing on that one thing you love. People will feel your passion, and more importantly they'll come to see you as an information source for them. They'll come looking for your articles if they like the topic too, and you do a good job.

You're prolific. You've generated over an article per day. Maybe if you cut back to three really well researched pieces per week it would give you more time to produce a higher quality product across the board.

Doing research and bringing what you've found to the people is going to generate more reads than stating opinions. It's the difference between "this is what I think" and "this is what I've learned."

Everybody's got an opinion, very few people do research. Work on that and you should see your results improve.

  8. Define success.

  9. My pleasure Thomas!

  14. Thanks Tom.

  15. Hey Thomas,

Zander handles the community leader appointments so you'll want to get in touch with him. Make sure you keep writing about MLS in general, and the Revs in particular. The big thing is to just help the MLS community grow as a whole right now, it's pretty small in stature. Don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything I can help you out with.

    Cheers,
    Joe Guarr
    MLS Community Leader
