Claire's Bio

With the Oakland Coliseum minutes away from home, I had no choice but to be a sports fan.

While my dad was in the Navy our family moved from city to city until we settled in the Bay Area. Naturally, I was drawn to the Bay Area teams and followed them religiously.

At the age of 17, I left the Bay and attended college at UC Davis. With the need to escape home but not live too far, it was the most logical choice. During those years I developed a love of teaching (I was an instructor for two drumlines) and honed my writing skills. I graduated with a degree in Psychology (watch out!) and a minor in Communication.

To hide my identity as a superhero, I am a high school English Teacher. My love of writing is shared with 11th and 12th graders; only half are probably listening while a tenth of the class is comprehending the message.

Currently, I reside in Sacramento, CA with my two dogs and my boyfriend of 12 years (that's not a typo).

Oh, and yes, I do ride a 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 600 (the sexy white/silver/blue one). That baby is all mine :)

  4. Hey Claire, my last MLB article is about whether or not Ryan Howard should be NL MVP. I wrote it a week ago but his stock keeps rising, see what you think.

  5. Well, I'm a Filipino just like him but of course, I've been trying to be as objective as possible (which is very hard to do). By the way, I may be asking too much but I hope you can give me some tips on teaching English one day. Thanks a lot.

  9. Dear Claire,

Thanks a mighty ton for that edit on the "images" pieces. Truly grateful. Saw someone ask Zander a question, then figured I might as well do it.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

  10. Claire, your articles are great, they always add something different to the mix that isn't just game recap. Keep on writing them and keep on telling people about BR.

  12. Hey Claire, thanks for taking time to edit my post. I apologize that I hadn't thanked you sooner. It's been a loooong time since I've been on the site.

    Earl

  13. Claire, I'm trying to get together a Giants Round Table and wanted to know if I could get your email address. keep up the writing!

  14. Claire you must have a bunch of time on your hands or be bored out of your gourd to edit my Radio announcement piece... It wasn't really an article. Thanks, anyway.

  15. Hey

just writing to tell you that I am no longer writing for Bleacher Report. I have embarked on several new ventures of my own and they are in direct conflict content-wise with BR.

Two of my blogs (mrflushing.com and blognyg.com) have been incorporated into the Yardbarker network and and a third one - ny giant nation - is being run by sportsblognet.com

I also bought into a sports video site that is in its infancy - smackcaster.com - which we are still developing....
