Bobby 's Bio

I am currently working towards a degree in Social Studies and History with a minor in Education. Teaching social studies at the high school level is a goal of mine and also coaching baseball. I just recently finished up my NCAA division 1 baseball career and am looking for any way to stay in the game.
I am writing on bleacher report not necessarily because I care if anyone out there reads what I have to say, but more for a way for me to take out my angst (and mostly agony) of being a Cleveland sports fan. If you like what I have to say I am glad that I had the opportunity to get to you, and if you do not like what I have to say I would love to hear your reasons why. I am a huge sports fan with heavy ties to Ohio teams. Hope you enjoy!

Favorite Sports Teams

Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Ohio State Buckeyes

All Time Sports Moment

Secretariat's massive destruction of the Belmont field to win the Triple Crown in 1973. Words cannot describe what he did that day.

Most Memorable Game Attended

Game 5 of the 1995 World Series Indians vs. Braves in Cleveland. Had everything you wanted. Homeruns, brushbacks, benches clearing, great plays, and most of all an Indians win.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cal Ripkin Jr's 2,131 consecutive games played streak. If someone reaches 1,000 consecutive it should make news and its not even half way to his record.

Ruth or Mays?

While Mays was a hybrid of his time Babe Ruth changed the way baseball was played. He hit more homeruns in a season than most teams in the major leagues combined for.

Unitas or Montana?

Unitas he revolutionized the position

Jordan or Russell?

MJ. I am just happy I can say that I got to see him play in my lifetime. Taking nothing away from Russell but the impact that Jordan had not only on basketball fans but sports fans in general is unbelievable.

Gretzky or Orr?

There is a reason they call him the "Great one." Gretzky was skating amongst boys while he was out on the rink.

Pele or Maradona?

Pele because of what he did off the soccer field as well as on it.

Federer or Sampras?

Sampras. Federer seems to have found someone who can duel with him. When it was Sampras all tennis had was an old Agassi who couldnt compete with Pete in his prime.

Tiger or Nicklaus?

Wow, this is easily the toughest question of all. Nicklaus did what he did over the course of time and it truly is amazing. While Tiger is easily the most identifiable figure in sports he needs more time. So I am going to leave this one open until Tiger is done. I do believe when it is all said and done Tiger's major total will be a record that will not be reached.

Petty or Earnhardt?

The Intimidator.

Schumacher or Senna?

Schumacher

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 10 - Three Yards and a cloud of dust, baby!
