Derek's Bio

A 2003 Graduate of the University of Notre Dame, I have always had a passion for sports. At Notre Dame, I worked in the Sports Information Office under John Heisler and Bernie Cafarelli. From there, I returned to Memphis for a couple of years of Grad School where I also worked for the Memphis Tigers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds.

I left Memphis for Los Angeles where I worked for Lions Gate Entertainment and AFLAC only to return to the South where I now reside in Atlanta. Here, I am in Law School, attempting to finish my degree and find my niche in the world.

I love Notre Dame and the University of Memphis, but appreciate the dynamics of all sports. Good luck to all and remember that despite all of our athletic differences, we're all American. Go Irish!

  6. Hey Derek,

So, I finally got around to asking about college and olympic sports. We do have sections for some other college sports like hockey and baseball, but you have to search for them in the tool bar. Olympics also have a section. There are tags for these sports when someone is writing an article. I didn't know they even existed until a few minutes ago. There are not many people in these sections, but if you would like to write about a certain sport feel free.

  7. Derek,

We may disagree on the impact of Notre Dame, but I commend you for being a golden domer who exposes the BCS for what it is, so thanks for that. Sorry if my differing opinions offend you, but we're all adults here.

  8. Hey Derek,

Congrats on already getting an article on the front page of the College Football page. I will bring up your question in our weekly Monday meeting to see what the other guys think. I will be writing a serious article in the next couple days, so watch out for that. My previous few have just been jokes I have thought about over the years.

  12. Ok,

I got one grouse with you, I just can't be American! But all else is good to know from your profile :-)

Cheers for a very good article on media irresponsibility.
