I am a true sports fan. I'm an ex-athlete that enjoys watching athletic competition. I'm a lifelong Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, USC Trojan fan. I have a take on all sports and my takes are always on point. I'm not a myopic fan who can only speak of their team only. I'm a sports fan and I can discuss every team. I can discuss and or debate anything regarding sports with anyone!

Strange times ahead I fear? (Or not as the case may be?)

I know the place on Tothill Street we sometimes go there if we watch Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge. Good call though. I live outside of London (about 40 miles north) but close enough to be a regular visitor.

What's goin on Jeff? Well I only know a little about Lamar Patterson. That they have him ranked at about a 3 star, he's committed to Pitt, Stands at about 6'5 around 220lbs. He is a talent who will continue to blossom on the collegiate level. While Paris stands around 6'6 around 195lbs, and is committed to George Mason. I know very little of these guys, however they must be doing big things to both be attending D1 schools next fall.

Wanted to let you know I've been tapped as a new community leader for the Los Angeles Dodgers. As of tonight's game, the Dodgers have whittled their magic number down to 3. I'm asking members to consider who they would want in a playoff rotation as well as manning the bullpen.

Also, who should be on the roster among the fielders. Should Maddux and Sweeney be active? What about Troncoso and Hu?

Hey Jeff,

I am one of the two NFL community leaders here at Bleacher Report, if I haven't introduced myself to you yet, Hello!

There will be a contest here at BR involving NFL writing. The format will divide the contestants into divisions where they will face off head-to-head each week and tally an overall record throughout the season.

The matchups will be judged on number of reads. There will be a Community Leader assigned to each division to keep track of total reads and report on the winners and losers.

I was wondering if you would be interested in assuming the role as head of a division?

I was extremely confused this morning, mainly because I'm an idiot and forgot that I did both of your pieces yesterday. I kept saying to myself, "I don't remember putting the word "still" in the Eric Dickerson headline."

Then I looked about 2.5" down and realized that I am just the opposite of intelligent. Oh well... Keep the great pieces coming, you never fail to deliver.

That's fine -- I was making a play on the term "Beat L.A." by saying "Boston More Than Beats L.A." since the win was by such a large margin.

If you go with yours, you don't need the "Celtics-Lakers" thing in the front, because it is redundant to have both teams names in the headline twice. The rest is totally fine; I had just thought of the other headline and thought it was a good place to use it. Your call of course.

Thanks for the compliment Jeff. I hate the assumption that black coaches should hire black coaches on race alone or that white coaches should hire on just that premise. It is an issue I feel strongly about. Ty Willingham has always said he wants to be hired on his merits and not the color of his skin. The BCA believes the same thing. They encourage schools to consider qualified minority coaches, but they do not advocate hiring just because of a persons race. I think that Willingham hires on the same standard. He is going to hire assistants based on their merits and not their ethnicity. Willingham is not just a great coach but he is also a great human being, and I hate when ND fans put him down with false information to justify the double standard the AD at ND created.

Jeff,

Just wanted to guage your interest, and I will be asking many other Bleacher Report NFL Writers...

How would you feel about taking part in a "way-too-early" 2008 NFL Season Predictions piece? It would be a 5 or 6 part article which would break down the schedules of each team, 4 weeks at a time, and try to predict their records after 4 games, 8 games, 12 games, 17 games and playoffs.

I'd like to get maybe 5 writers involved, so let me know if you're interested.

Yeah I believe I edited that one. The DenverPost columnist really hammered Shanahan for not taking Jonathan Stewart in the first round. I am glad we didn't. I am perfectly content with having a Young/Henry or a Young/Hall duo. To beat the Chargers, Cutler needs time to deliver the ball and not have Merriman and Phillips in his face.

Really liked the Ryan Clady pick at 12. He's quick and fits the system well. Would've been happy with him or Branden ALbert there. Not too crazy about the Eddie Royal pick. Team already has BMarsh, Jackson, Stokley and Colbert. I'm worried the Royal pick was in case Marshall's freak injury was something worse than expected. Overall, it was good. Would've preferred a safety in the third or fourth and a guard somewhere in there. I've never been in a position where I've had to look up at the Chiefs' draft though. That's disheartening. Fan of the McFadden pick or did you want Dorsey?

hey yeah man no problem -- that was a really cool idea and you conveyed it really well.. i like your writing a lot. but yeah i wear my mustard costume to penn state basketball games and ESPN got me on camera for the Virginia Techa and Ohio State game. It was really cool cuz I text messaged my friends from home and told them to watch for me and then they saw me and I got calls from my parents and uncles it was cool.

Maybe a tradition to start.. but if I cover men's basketball for our student newspaper you think they'll let me in the press conferences with a condiment costume? That'd be awesome!

Hey Jeff,
I have just written an article called "Oakland Raiders: Requirements, Free Agency Maneuvers and Draft day possibilities". I was wondering why i had not recieved any comments or as many reads when another article "State of the Union: Raiders..." written 7 hours after mine had recieved more reads and comments than my article. Your right, and I also have all the games on DVD for the offseason, and last night I watched the first match-up against the Broncos. From that game, It showed that we had a good enough defense to keep us in the game, and with the moves we have already made this offseason, makes this defense fairly solid. You know, now that we have two lockdown corners, and strong safetys, the opponents run game will be more predictable, thus making it easier to stop, right? Teams absolutely killed us on random run plays, where we had our LB's drop into coverage on draw plays. I like Long on D, but other than him, McFadden is the best player in the draft, and I would be extatic watching him and Russell grow together and dominate, what would have happened at LSU, if McFadden went there instead. Three-peat maybe?
