I grew up in the bay area with my Raiders pillow case tucked firmly under my head every night, but then spent the rest of my life representing the Silver & Black in enemy territory. Family back east were 'Skins fans during that particular Raiders Superbowl, and I made the mistake of joining them all for the game. Was lucky to walk out of there alive! Served in the Navy in San Diego, and again had a few issues living around Bolts fans. Now work has taken me to lovely Denver, Colorado, aka Manningville these days.
Trust me, the last thing I would do is a Raiders piece because I know and have grown up living the heated rivalry as a ergular season ticket holder. I did the piece not by choice, but I am doing the B/R internship this summer, and that was my assignment (Yes, the title, word for word, was the headline I was given). I understand that is a terrible word especially when I am a Chargers fan, I would have hated me too because it doesn't make sense. Regardless, it will be a fun battle this year and can't wait to see how everything turns out in the AFC West especially with all the talk circling Denver as it would look like you know pretty well living in Peyton country.
The AFC WEst is a division that is open for the taking, I understand that, and didn't knock the Raiders. They have put together 2 back-to-back .500 seasons, and last year just missed out after falling away after a fresh 7-4 start. All I said was that they were hurt this offseason from Al Davis' deals by not having first and second round picks. And Yes they lost players as you mentioned, but I inserted them as better than the talent (yes talent) that they received. Everyone is subject to their own opinion. Constructive criticism, no need to keep trying to knock me down. I have learned from my experience, so just move on. Thanks for reaching out.
