  9. Yeah, I read what Alex Boone said about his teammates on the Columbus Dispatch this morning and wholeheartedly agree. I kinda took yesterday off to recuperate from the loss and shut myself off from ESPN, B/R, TSN and others. We can't keep recruiting players based on past traditions when teams like the Trojans, Gators and LSU can almost guarantee an appearance in some sort of high profile bowl/championship game year in and year out (710's guys were talking about it)

That said, I loved the atmosphere at the Coliseum on Saturday (having never been to a game there despite living in SoCal for five years).

Our biggest problem is the inability to make adjustments, and I think the blame for that falls on Heacock and Bollman, our defensive and offensive coordinators (and reportedly close friends of Tressel). Very frustrating to watch that team lifelessly give the game away and trying to run the same plays over and over again while people like Joe McKnight run all over the field.

Pete Arbergast (sp?) said it best, though: By far this is one of the best offenses the Trojans have ever had.

  10. Paul, I wanted to post this comment here instead of with the column where it can be deleted after you read it. If I had a private email address, I would send it to you that way.

I have a great deal of respect for your writing and your standing as the community leader. However, I was a bit disappointed after reading your latest Tressel column.

It seemed like you were channeling Plaschke, which despite his professional standing, is not a good thing in my book. It seems a bit out of place given your other work. The subject matter was worthy, just the framing was off.

Trusting you realize this is only a critique not an attack, I look forward to your next article.

  15. Hi Paul,

You're welcome. I believe the Beavers are a work in progress. They are still a very young and inexperienced team. Next year, I believe will be their breakout year. They are currently learning the tough lessons that will make them much stronger next year.

    Keep up the good work.
