Baseball is my passion. My grandfather was Albert "Rube" Walker, who remained involved in the game of Major League Baseball for nearly 50 years as a player, pitching coach, and scout. Rube Walker was a catcher for the Chicago Cubs and Brooklyn Dodgers before leaving the game as a player the season after the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958. Unfortunately, Rube Walker was the catcher behind the plate when Bobby Thomson slammed his famous "Shot Heard Round the World" on October 3, 1951 giving the Giants the National League pennant over the Dodgers in a three-game playoff.
As for myself, I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I graduated from UMW with a BS degree and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I...

4 - Fred Richani
Writer bio
Fred Richani is a comedic, yet passionate sports writer and most importantly, a die hard sports fan. Football, Basketball, and Pro Wrestling are his first loves, although dabbling in the world of baseball and other athletics is never out of the question for the man they call F-Bomb. Fred is currently a student at Brookdale College in New Jersey, hoping to transfer to THE Rutgers University at the end of 2009.
The F-Bomb's favorite teams include the New York Yankees, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks (despite their terrible management as of 2008), and of course, his beloved New York Giants. What does the Freehold, NJ native look to a accomplish on Bleacher Report?

Born in Washington DC, raised in Woodbridge, VA. I am married and currently live in Manassas, Va. I grew up a Skins fan, and went the Orioles games with my dad. Favorite sport is Football, pro not college followed by hockey and college basketball. I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy speaking about teams of old and new. I am enjoying the process of becoming a writer. I admit it was a rush to seem my first article published. Looking forward to swapping ideas with other fanatics, and enjoying the upcoming NFL season.

I'm just an old sports guy who does a little blog about ACC sports -- Todays ACC Headlines. The take is slightly offbeat and we will wander off the path to the other NCAA conferences and the whole wide wild world of sports if the occassion calls for it. Which, it usually does...It isn' the New York Times, but it ain't M.A.D. Magazine either...we don't micro anyalze every missed block or travelling call. TAH tries to remember that at the end of the day sports are really all about entertainment, and good entertainment should make you smile some days and laugh out loud on others...

Writer bio
I'm a Journalism/Mass Communications major in Arizona. I've written for the Glendale Community College newspaper, The Voice, working as a sports editor and later as the managing editor. My ambition is to go into sports writing and/or broadcasting on a professional level, hopefully for the NBA.
I've always been a fan of basketball, whether it's watching, playing or writing on it. Playing is how I tore my ACL on my left knee, which was operated on in May, 2008. I'm currently doing intense rehab and physical therapy to get back to playing the sport I love.
I do public address announcing for basketball, volleyball, baseball and other athletic activities on the high school and junior college level.

One day, I found a website known as Bleacher Report and my life has been changed ever since. I have had great opportunities through this site to find that this is the thing that I one day want to do.
I have interviewed (sort of) Stanford Routt of the Oakland Raiders and Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs, I have also been stood up by Jarrett Bush. Still waiting on a reply about the actual date of the interview there. I have also been lucky enough to meet Derrick Williams of t...
