Joseph is entering his 15th NFL season. He's played with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills.

The two-time Pro Bowler out of East Carolina won a Super Bowl with the 2011 Giants as one of the team's starting defensive tackles.

The 35-year-old spent last season in Buffalo, making 12 tackles and posting one sack in seven games. He signed with the team in early November as a free agent.

Joseph now reunites with his old Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer, who serves as the Cowboys' defensive coordinator.

A few analysts provided more context behind the move.

The Joseph move continues Dallas' quest to beef up its interior defensive line.

The Cowboys also recently added another defensive tackle in Jordan Phillips, who is entering his 10th NFL season. Phillips was in training camp with the Giants, who traded him to Dallas on Aug. 15.
