Unless New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady gets flagged for pushing his real estate agent, it would appear as if the current king of the AFC East is about to call New York home.
Page Six's Emily Smith reports that Brady and supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen have purchased a condo in the Big Apple. Smith says the condo checks in at a tidy $14 million. A hefty price, but understandable given the fact it is three bedrooms and takes up the entire 47th floor.
According to Smith, the condo is in One Madison Park glass tower on East 22nd Street. Using a previous listing for the apartment, Smith passes along that the unit has views to the north and west that includes "a vista directly up Madison Avenue."
As Smith quotes one source as saying, "It will allow Tom Brady to look down on Gotham like Batman."
Despite the fact that this past Sunday the New York Jets snapped a five-game losing streak against the Patriots, an overtime win that was seriously aided by the call of an obscure pushing rule, I can't imagine Jets fans are too comfortable with Brady living deep in the heart enemy territory.
And what was Rex Ryan doing to let Brady just waltz deep into Jets nation untouched? The Jets coach usually devises a much more complex plan to stop the three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.
Now, Brady will be able to sleep in his own bed before playing the Jets, which, if you listen to betting experts or follow betting lines, is worth about three points when an entire team gets to sleep in familiar living quarters. I wonder if this will alter the point spread?
It is not mentioned how much time the couple will be spending in their new pad. They certainly have some envious living options. This condo can be added to their list of living quarters next to a massive California home.
Despite what has to be a mind-numbing annual amount in property taxes alone, I don't think "Bundy" (is this not how people combine their names?) will have to be eating Top Ramen in their new pad.
Brady is getting old in terms of the NFL at 36, but he isn't exactly making the veteran's minimum. Of course, the same can also be said for his 33-year-old bride. If there was a veteran's minimum in modeling, Bundchen is nowhere near it.
According to Forbes' Dorothy Pomerantz, Bundchen was the world's top-earning model last year. The publication speculates that the couple made over $80 million last year.
So, sorry Jets fans, I don't think this condo will be entering foreclosure anytime soon.
