LSU scored 17 points in the first quarter, but the game didn't start well for the Bayou Bengals, as Sam Leavitt threw an interception on the second play from scrimmage.
Leavitt rebounded and led the Tigers on two scoring drives in the first quarter, the second of which resulted in a one-yard touchdown run from Dilin Jones.
LSU's defense got in on the party next with an interception return for a touchdown.
Leavitt and Co. took full control after that moment, as they went on to score 14 points in the second quarter and 13 points in the third.
Leavitt, an Arizona State transfer, ran for a pair of touchdowns to go along with his one scoring throw.
LSU will have one week out of the Saturday spotlight, as it plays the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in Week 2.
Kiffin and Co. will be tested in back-to-back weeks to end September against top-10 teams. They face Kiffin's old team, the No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels, in Week 3 and the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies in Week 4.
