Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to sign Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson, and Lazio are said to be open to listening to offers for their star this summer.

Tuttosport (h/t TalkSport) reported Chelsea lead the chase to sign the Eagles attacker, who is understood to be valued at up to £20 million by his Serie A employers.

Manchester United have been associated with a move for Anderson in previous transfer windows, per TalkSport, but injury setbacks and inconsistencies in form have seen the South American remain in Italy.

An abductor problem kept the 24-year-old from making his first appearance of the season until December, but the winger is back to displaying shades of his best in Rome.

WhoScored.com was full of praise for his performance in the 5-1 UEFA Europa League win over Steaua Bucharest on February 22:

Anderson joined Lazio from Santos in 2013 and has played much of his career there off the right flank, although he's also shown good adaptability in playing off the central striker in a closer support role, too.

It was in the win over Steaua that he recorded two assists and scored a goal of his own, not to mention showcasing some of the flair he brings to the table, via the Europa League:

Chelsea already have a Brazilian winger at their disposal on the right flank, but Willian has found himself in and out of head coach Antonio Conte's plans, with Pedro often preferred on that side of the attack.

There is a question as to how Anderson would fit into Chelsea's plans if the English giants intended to play him off the right, and Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas recently campaigned for Willian to get more chances:

Conte has made a number of signings from Serie A since arriving at Stamford Bridge, and while Anderson would fit that profile, there are questions as to how long the former Juventus manager will be at Chelsea.

According to the Daily Star (h/t Metro), Conte is "counting down the days" until he can leave the club, meaning any planned move for Anderson could be in danger—unless it's being pushed by others in west London.

Anderson has scored four goals and crafted six assists in 18 appearances across all competitions this season, and a long, protracted move abroad could finally materialise as Lazio are said to be open to his sale.
