Tim McKernan, the Denver Broncos' fan known for wearing a barrel at the games died of a lung disease on Friday.  He was 69.

For 30 years, McKernan would come to Mile High wearing a barrel, cheering on the Broncos in all types of weather.  He retired from being the 'Barrel Man' after the 2007 season.

The barrel he wore during Super Bowl XXXII was autographed by 49 players and was sold for $30,000.

He gave part of the proceeds to a battered woman's shelter.

The Broncos play AFC West Rival Kansas City Sunday.
