Previous CFB series: Week Thirteen (other weeks linked inside)
Top 10 entering Week Fourteen:
1. Southern Cal 10-0
2. Florida 11-0
3. Oklahoma 11-0
4. Ohio State 11-1
5. Auburn 10-1
6. Missouri 10-1
7. Wisconsin 11-1
8. Texas 9-2
9. South Florida 10-1
10. BYU 11-1
Key Games in Week 14:
Florida at Florida State
The Seminoles talked trash about Tim Tebow last season and paid for it by getting blown out by the Gators in Gainesville. Florida heads to Tallahassee this season, but the result shouldn't be much different.
Winner: Florida
Auburn at Alabama
The Tigers enter with a six-game winning streak over their archrival, but Nick Saban will have a good team this year and will certainly have his team ready to end that streak playing at home. This will be a battle, but Auburn still should have the better team and win the game. This could go either way.
Winner: Auburn
Texas A&M at Texas
The Aggies have had a knack for knocking off the Longhorns recently. Both teams have experienced quarterbacks, but the Longhorn defense will come to play in this one. Texas wins this rivalry game at home.
- B/R Ticket Guide
Winner: Texas
Kansas at Missouri
In what all of a sudden has become a marquee rivalry, the Jayhawks and the Tigers clash again in St. Louis. Missouri was too much for Kansas last season, and I don't expect anything different this season. Chase Daniel continues his great season and run for the Heisman.
Winner: Missouri
West Virginia at Pittsburgh
Think the Mountaineers remember this game from last year? Pittsburgh knocked off West Virginia on the road to dash the Mountaineers national title chances. West Virginia will be out for revenge this time and will get it done.
Winner: West Virginia
Georgia Tech at Georgia
Can Paul Johnson come in and stop Georgia's current dominance in this rivalry? In a word, no. Not this season anyway. The Bulldogs playing at home have way too much for the Yellow Jackets to handle in this game.
Winner: Georgia
Top Heisman Candidates after Week Fourteen:
1. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
2. Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State
3. Chase Daniel, QB, Missouri
4. Pat White, QB, West Virginia
5. Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
6. Joe McKnight, RB, Southern Cal
Top 10 after Week 14:
1. Southern Cal 11-0 (beat Notre Dame, next: UCLA)
2. Florida 12-0 (beat Florida State, next: SEC Championship Game)
3. Oklahoma 12-0 (beat Oklahoma State, next: Big 12 Championship Game)
4. Ohio State 11-1 (regular season done)
5. Auburn 11-1 (beat Alabama, next: SEC Championship Game)
6. Missouri 11-1 (beat Kansas, next: Big 12 Championship Game)
7. Wisconsin 11-1 (regular season over)
8. Texas 10-2 (beat Texas A&M, next: regular season done)
9. South Florida 10-1 (bye, next: West Virginia)
10. LSU 10-2 (beat Arkansas, next: regular season done)
Others receiving votes: BYU (11-1), West Virginia (9-2), Georgia (9-3), Texas Tech (9-3), Clemson (9-3), Kansas (9-3), Tennessee (9-3)
Also, a reminder that at the end of the season, there will be an eight-team playoff that will be voted upon by you. You will be able to go to my blog and vote for the winner of each matchup, and the winners will move on each week.
You will also be able to vote for who wins the 2008 Heisman Trophy after the season as well. So get out the word, and you decide the outcome of the 2008 season.

Who gets in the title game if Florida, USC, and Oklahoma are all undefeated at season's end? Florida would probably be a lock because of the strength of schedule in the SEC. Would USC's OOC schedule be enough to hold off Oklahoma's push if they win the Big XII tite game?
from 3 months ago
Well this isn't the BCS, this is my championship series so it's an 8 team playoff.
Now, in real life if those three go undefeated, you know Florida will be in because they will have beaten Georgia and then won an SEC championship game.
I'd say Southern Cal would be the other team because they would have beaten Ohio State and would probably be ahead of Oklahoma during the season.

dude im sorry but who do you see wvu loseing to idk why you have them so low they are gonna be a top 5 team this year from what ive seen predicted and what i predict
from 3 months ago
Well they are losing a lot from their defense first of all, a lot. They also lose Darius Reynaud and Owen Schmitt who is extremely underrated.
But I have them losing to Auburn, which is entirely possible, and I had them losing in an upset on the road to Louisville. It probably won't happen, but I just decided to pick and upset here and there so I went with that one.
They still have a shot to win the Big East with a win over South Florida next week. WVU has one conference loss, South Florida's only loss is to Kansas. So WVU wins that game, they win the Big East and make my playoff.

well dude im soory i agree au could beat us but morgantown is gonna be hard to overcome and ul is still picking up pieces from last year. But reynaud and schmitt were awesome yeah and slaton too,but we have a rb from MD replacing schmitt who is 235 6ft1 and runs a 4.4 while we have all but reynaud returning to our wr core. and as for our defense yes we lost our best players in dingle and wicks but if we are just talking about replacing them their backups got a lot of time last year and wont have trouble stepping in i dont think they will make the plays either did but they will stop plays well enough. so while your entitled to your opinion i respectfully disagree and say wvu ends ups 12-0 at seasons end

Nice article again, I'm actually excited to see what you have happening in the final week.
With that said, how are you going to seed the 8 teams in the playoff? Just the top eight in the rankings, or are you going to do auto-bids for conference champions? Just curious; I've done a lot of thinking about which way would be better for an 8-team playoff.
from 3 months ago
I'm doing the top 6 conference champions, ACC, Big East, SEC, Big 12, Pac 10, and Big Ten. Then I'm taking the next two best at large teams.
So I'm giving the top 6 spots to the conference champs, then spots #7 and #8 will go to at large teams.

I know this is just for fun but you have to be kidding me.
9 of your top 10 teams either have no or 1 loss. Last year only 3 of the top 10 teams after week 14 had no or 1 loss. The problem is you give the team that is favored the win 99 percent of the time.
Auburn is a nice team but do really think they will go 10-1? They play @ Miss St, @ WVU, and @ Alabama. They also have LSU, Tennesse, and UGA at home. And through all that your saying go 5-1 in those games. Not likely. They could win the West but it wont be with just 1 loss.
Everything you picked from the top 10 to the heisman contenders is so predictable but more than likely wrong. Pick a dark horse. When has a season of college football ever gone they way we thought it would have. Look at last year. . .
Chase Daniels was a surprise Heisman candidate and Missouri was a surprise team.
Kansas was also a surprise team that won a BCS Bowl. Who say that coming? A two loss team played for the NC. Also, Oregon was a surprise team that was contending late in the season for the NC before the Dixon injury. He was also a Heisman candidate before that. Michigan was a top 5 team that underperformed and Louisville was in the same boat. California fell of the face of the earth at about week 7.
All of those things were stuff we didn't expect but they always happen every year. The only thing that you have that is even a remote surprise is USF who is ranked preseason 19th.
from 3 months ago
Well if you want to go predict the entire season, go for it. Who do you think will win the Heisman? I'd say my top 6 is as likely as any. I don't have Moreno in there who a lot of people might have, I don't have Crabtree or Harrell either. So it's not like I went with all the obvious picks.
Auburn could go 11-1, I don't know if they will or not. LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia are at home. I have them going 2-1 in those games. Miss State won't beat Auburn again, that is not a big threat to me. West Virginia and Alabama will be tough road games, but in case you haven't been watching, Auburn has been a great road team under Tuberville. So winning those games wouldn't be a surprise at all.
I like Missouri this year, I have them losing to Texas and beating Kansas. That's pretty realistic I think.

Shocker, homer pick in the Iron Bowl. lol.
from 3 months ago
Not really. Auburn will be the favorite, has nothing to do with whether I'm an Auburn fan.
I did it could go either way, which is more than most Auburn fans would say.
from 3 months ago
Yea, true, but I just wanted to joke around with it there. Sorry about the apparent double post, but hey, thats more comments for you.

You don't know if Auburn will be the favorite. The game is a long way away.
You can't blame him for giving Auburn the win over Bama, he is an Auburn fan. Auburn wont go 11-1 though. This is the SEC and they're doing all this with a QB whose only completed 10 passes in his career.
from 3 months ago
Well how many passes has LSU QB's completed? That's the team they are competing with. Tennessee's QB is new as well.

Ok, I tried to go back and look at each week, but got my links confused or something. You have Texas beating A&M, Mizzou, Tech and Kansas? But we still have 2 losses at the end? I assume OU, that's reasonable. But who else? If we can beat Mizzou, Kansas and Tech, I don't see us losing to anyone outside of maybe OU and our bowl game. I appreciate the respect.
