College Football, ACC Football, UNC Football, Rankings/List

After this week we should probably drop the "power" from power rankings because the ACC looked about as good as Amy Winehouse after a crack binge.

It wasn't just that the ACC lost, it was that they lost their marquee games on national television and they got embarrassed in those games.

Preseason ACC leader Clemson lost to a middle SEC Alabama, Virginia Tech was beat at their own game by ECU, NC State got whooped behind the wood shed Thursday night, and Virginia was completely out-manned by USC.

A 7-4 mark wouldn't normally be as bad, but this was a big week for the ACC to make a name for itself.  Instead the conference crumbled and folded.

But, never the less, with the help of other ACC Community leaders, we bring you the ACC power rankings after week one.

  1. ECU has a good team. We will see just how good they are this week when they host West Virginia. So the loss Va. Tech suffered does not bother me quite as bad as the other three do.

Clemson, Virginia and NC State were the other three "big" games. Virginia was out classed by a better team. Clemson was pushed around the line of scrimage and looked horrible. However, NC State, one of the worst teams in the league, lost their starting quarterback and was down by just three at the half. Spurrier ran the score up on this team. After spekaing with several Gamecock fans, they all aknowledged this but say that is why Spurrier was hired.

Maryland and UNC had perplexing wins to say the least. Miami, Wake and Ga. Tech, Duke and Boston College took care of their oponents.

  2. wow the words "acc" and "power" and should not be in the same article after this past weekend matt haha
